Isn't 12 old enough to leave on her own occasionally? (or shouldn't I open that can???)0 -
Everyone feels restless sometimes. We're all trying to fill the hole in our soul. Some choose religion, some choose drink and drugs, some choose endless unfulfilling relationships. Others have more success with hobbies and pastimes. The trick is to find something that helps that's actually good for us. It never goes away completely though - it's always there to remind us we're human."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

What makes me bored is the repetitive tasks, so I always try to include new stuff or fun stuff too. I hate the fact the EVERY SINGLE DAY I have to many of the same things over and over again, like wash up, cook tea, vacuum, wash clothes. That's boring, so I always make sure that the reward for ploughing through it all is to do something more fun and interesting after.I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be0

If you feel unfulfilled it might help lowering your expectations a bit. I know it's a trite thing to say but 'counting your blessings' is a really useful thing to do regularly. Perhaps you feel that life shouldn't be like *this*, that there's more to life, or something missing. Well, everyone feels like that; it's part of being human.
Endlessly striving to find that missing piece doesn't really help, you'll never find it, there'll always be that little bit of yearning. Take pleasure in the things you do have; contentment is a good place to be."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

again thank you thank you thank you there are some lovely people on here im so glad to have your comments.
at 12 i could leave dd home alone and would do to nip to local shop or library but we live very rural (no street lights) and she is a bit easily spooked so prefers not to be left alone at night. so i wouldnt feel happy to leave her at night for a couple of hours. that time will come.
i am starting to think that retirement at 50 will be exceedingly boring so i am starting to think of things that i can put in place now in order for that to be a good choice.
i set up my spreadsheet last night for my expenditure and debt repayment so im really pleased about that.
i forgot to say before about being fat im not massive im a size 18 and im quite happy with that. im fit and active so i dont feel compelled to lose weight.
thank you all again x0 -
I find I get really bored at this time of the year - christmas has been and gone and the evenings are dark, which limits our choices (i.e. can't sit out in the garden with a glass of wine or have a BBQ).
I have started learning to bake cakes and biscuits plus make my own chutneys and jams (have always cooked but not bakery type food). I scour the internet for ideas and recipes. I print them out and have put together my own recipe book, I put a cover on it and named it My Homemade Goods. My aim is to fill it up!
I have made fudge too - ideal for presents!
When I get fed-up with cooking I go back to sewing.
I invited friends, who invited their friends and so on, to a film night at my place (kids invited too!) and we had a buffet and drinks and had a great night!
How about selling stuff online? Or something like that to keep you occupied and give you a buzz!“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,

You mentioned that you got invited to a book club but couldn't attend as DD needs to be in bed - can you host it (or a similar event) at your house??0
