Had the tour of warrington hospital the other day and that made me feel a bit better. Nice to see what the rooms and equipment etc look like.

Good luck to all that need it.

Hi serendisglair you must be quite close to me as Warrington was one of my options - not the one i opted for in the end though.

Which reminds me I need to go and book in on the tour of the labour ward soon eep!!
    Antenatal classes start next week.

Good luck to those who need it :)

(refusing to count the list to see where I am on it!)

Gilly - good luck! Fingers crossed for you!

Ok, this is my first pregnancy. I don't care if we are having two girls, two boys, or one of each. Well, would like to be something else than 2 boys just so that it is not what my mum said it is (she always has to be right, and if she gets one thing right, there is no stopping her!). At the moment it looks like we might be having one of each, but we will see.

I am having bad time again - don't know what is wrong with me. Got very upset on the way home yesterday with the train journey - no seats, some stupid people from Blackpool took over 4 seats in 1st class, and even though 3 of them gave up the seats, one !!!!!!! (sorry) just wouldn't. Even when I said I am pregnant (well, you can see my bump well now, unless you are blind), his response was 'so is my wife, and what?'. I ended up standing for half an hour. Then I had to stop in the shop to get few bits, and as my luck would have, they had a power cut in parts in town, and I had to drive to another shop, but that took over half an hour as there was a long queue to get out of the car park.

Then this morning got upset with OH again (silly things, but I am fed up with everything). Went to hospital for my appointment, saw different doctor this time, and she didn't even give me chance to ask any questions, she probably was in the room for 2 min in total! She asked about my hip pain, and gave advise completely opposite to the physio (keep moving, when physio said don't over do it - yes, go for a walk, but a short one, and do not stand/sit for longer than 20 min, change position often, walking is one of the things that makes the pain worse!!!). Then she said I don't need scan in 4 weeks and go to GP in 4 weeks instead of hospital!!!! Completely opposite to NICE guidelines, but I was too upset by that point and didn't dare to say anything. Well, midwives at the hospital set her right about seeing GP, so I am going back to hospital in 4 weeks. They found something again in my urine, so that is off to the lab.

Then, got home, switched on my work computer, just to find an email that the meeting tomorrow is moved to the following week. So, the hotel I booked for tonight has to be cancelled, but because I was due to arrive today, I have to pay full price for tonight.

Honestly, I just want to curl up in the corner somewhere an hide from the world. I just keep thinking what else can go wrong. Sorry for bringing the mood down again....

  • I'm in newton phunkles. Had the choice of whiston or warrington but warrington was easier to get to train wise for appointments.

Gin - Sorry your day is pants it all comes at once sometimes.
Can't believe how rude people are on the trains I had one person offer me their seat on the train in the entire 6 months of commuting where I was looking more and more preggers. Ours is the last stop before manc so there are never any seats.

I give most people the benefit of the doubt as they are probably scared of causing offence or just plain haven't noticed but if you've actually asked if someone can move then its not on. I pity his wife if he treats her the same way.
  • Gin. Hope your day gets better from this point on. X

Can't believe I'm gonna be a boldie tomorrow, woohoo. Seems to have gone fast looking back.

Just cut and painted my nails, figure it might be a while before I get to beautify myself again lol. X

    Morning everyone :)

What is the old wives tale about heart beats again? I know faster is supposed to be one sex and slower the other but I forget which.

I love being team yellow and will be happy just as long as baby is healthy. But I love all the predictor tests too, even though Im quite sure its a load of rubbish and they all say different things anyway!

Had 28 week check today and all fine. Bump is measuring 29 weeks. Pip did not like the doppler though and kept kicking it away, was so funny. Its got attitude already!!

Thankyou for adding me to the list Gilly. Sending you good luck vibes!

Gin - that man is a complete and utter nobble head! Sorry you had such a poop journey home!
Glad the midwives set the doctor straight again a nobble head!! Your not bringing the mood down dont be daft.

Seren- we chose the other option you had cause its easier and quicker for us to get to for apointments although that said weve not actually set foot in there yet!!

So I have a 10% off mothercare online code and a 10% off mothercare instore voucher in an email if anyone is going to benefit.
I also have huggies Euro vouchers that I will not use if anyone will benefit??

Currently getting kicked in the ribs.

Thank you. I wanted to say how would he like if it was his wife in my place, but I just couldn't bring myself to talk anymore, just kept swallowing the tears. (Really teary these days...)

Oh, I asked one of the midwives for my MATB1 certificate, as I won;t be seeing anyone until I am 24+3, so that would give me no time to hand it in to HR. Also, consultant said I should think about finishing work early, maybe by 28 weeks, but I don't see how that is possible without using the holiday! Was too upset to ask.

I think it's higher for a girl and lower for a boy.

Certainly proved right with me at MW yesterday. Almost got sent to the hospital as her HB was 170! Apparently 160 is the cut off anything higher you have to go and be monitored. But before they put the doppler on they had a good feel and went to feel if she was engaged and nipped one of my nerves right down in my pelvis-i lifted clean off the bed :) They said that had probably gotten her all worked up so left the doppler on me for a good 10 minutes and she eventually settled down to 160 and then 156 which the MW was happy with. I just didn't like that they said nothing for the first couple of minutes and it was obvious they were concerned about somethin-but pleased all is ok.

Poor DH managed to wait until they said she was fine and then bolted out of the room white as a sheet and ready to pass out. When i'd asked what was wrong he said 'There was something wrong with my baby' well my heart just melted the softie :)

Labour vibes to all those in need xx
