Sebastian is my number one contender for a boy, Lily for a girl.
Other names we considered are Alexander, Anthony, Rhod, Ewan, Joseph, William. Jackson and Yoshi (Japanese name after a good friend only discarded as my family would struggle with it) are my reserve names.

Oohh Carmilla, you have our boys name on your list.
I do love Sebastian. OH won't have any of it though so it's a no for us sadly. I like Theo too for a boy.
Glad baby turned for you anywayand go put your feet up and take things easy. X

Gilly - I've just been catching up on the board from my last post about symptoms of my false labour signs last weekend, and I think it sounded a bit harsh, I didn't mean to sound like your symptoms were not real, just to say the could be practice ones like mine. Anyway as I'm good at digging a hole and making it worse, I will leave it there and hope no offence was caused.
I went for the ECV, spent. 90 minutes in the trace before hand trying to get a good reading, as the baby moved around itself without the aid of the doctor. It doesn't like to be touched so moves out of the way, so DH really did the ECV with the trace, my hero! Doctor was a bit surprised at the non medical movement, but I was very pleased to avoid the extra drugs. So I asked for a sweep, baby was obviously not yet engaged, and my cervix was closed but it was not too bad. So we went to the canteen for some lunch.
So after lunch I'm feeling pretty good, the odd twinge down below but nothing too bad, so we decided to pick up some car biscuits and I have a little hobble around the shop, but I started to feel dizzy, after several pauses to the exit we pay and make our way out. DH goes to get the car while I lean against the wall. Next thing I remember is waking up on the floor being surrounded by people. People can be so kind and helpful. Baby seems fine and is still miving about. I've got a big graze all down one side of my face and on my knee and a bit of a sore head. Im going to have a cracking bruise! DH said let's not do the post birth photos or he will get arrested for battery or something. I must have put a hand our to stop my fall as I've broken all my nails on one hand, so I suppose I will have to cut them down, I think strong nails have been one of my few pregnancy positives, other than the eventual baby!
DH rang maternity but they just said it was probably lack of food and to come in if I feel dizzy again after some more food. So sweets, cheese toastie and lemonade for me, more ice pack and bed for me.
Gin, sorry you are having a tough time, hugs!
Pregnancy - such fun!
Blimey, what a day you have had!! Hope you are ok now, take it easy.
Thank you for the name suggestions, will see what OH thinks, I decided on Darcie Ava for a girl so he can choose the boy name
I know he likes Rowan, which I do like but my Mum isn't keen - I do wish people would just lie if they dont like the name you pick, I was fine about Rowan till her reaction now I'm not sure!!0 -
Wow Carmilla! What a day! Glad you feel better now. Lots of rest!DFD February 2012

Ronan as an alternative to Rowan?0 -
Oh no Carmilla I didn't think that at all, so don't think that. I wasn't being rude, I've been all over the place this morning, I've been in so much pain, I'm literally moving between the bedroom and the kitchen where the laptop is. I've barely slept a wink and my head hurts
I know it is false labour, it's just angering me so much as I know the pains are doing sweet f all, to actually get baby out. So I'm in pain for no reason other than my body wants me to practise.
The pains are just coming and going now, and have been for over 12 hours, if it's not to be I wish they would just stop.

Oh Gin, poor you *hugs* try not to let the stupid commuters get you down, just be glad you're not that man's poor wife.
Being teary and emotional seems to be normal (unfortunately) - I was meant to be booking a hotel room for my birthday a few days ago and ended up calling my OH in tears, absolutely distraught because the price had gone up since I'd last looked. It took him about 10 minutes to calm me down enough to even find out what was bothering me. And my friend who's due April has spent the last couple of months getting really very upset over tiny things - neither of us prior to pregnancy were the teary type.
If your consultant thinks you should stop work early then he can probably give you a fit note to cover the period between stopping work and starting maternity leave. It shouldn't affect your maternity pay if you go off sick after your 26th week.
Camilla are you OK? Glad the baby's fine, must've been scary (if not for you then your DH when he came and found you)
Make sure you take it easy and keep topped up with food and fluids.
Laura what does your surname begin with?
We've not seriously thought of names yet but quite like Andrew, Luke and James (I also like Xavier and Lucian but think I'm on a losing battle with my OH over those - may be able to sneak it in as a middle name).
Rowan is a lovely name0 -
My family, if they don't like the chosen name, tend to make up there own name and used that instead. My RL name is Joanne, but two of my Aunts still call me Josephine, I'm 35!
My sister Zoe is called Zosh,
I'm going to call the baby Sev, instead of Seb for short and Sebastian is for formal or naughty. DH vetoed Severus from HP which I know is sensible but I still fancy it, but it would be cruel. I do like Rowan, for both sexes and we talked about it if it had bright red hair.:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

I love Sebastian, but it just wouldn't go here, it makes me think of a rich public school boy, same with Milo, I love that but I can't help but picture a little boy in grey shorts, blazer and cap
I had a dream the other night that I was in labour and kept calling my baby Jack, even though that's not the name we've chosen? How random. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
