Hi all,

This is the first opportunity I've had to come online so sorry for the delay, but wanted to let you know Megan was born by emergency c-section on 23 April.

We're doing well now, but have had our problems. Over the weeked I had the inductions, baby became distressed and the heartrate raced / plummeted to zero at different times. There was no heartbeat at birth and Megan wasn't breathing. She had 3-cycles of resuscitation and responded well.

I then caught an infection in hospital. We were moved off the ward and had to stay in until this week.

Megan dropped a lot of body weight(1lb) but thankfully was clear of the infection.

We're both home now, I'm on medication for another week but hoping we've turned the corner.

It's been quite a rollercoaster ride, but I have a beautiful baby girl who I love to bits and touch wood we're both healthy now.

I wll post more when I can, but wanted to let you know we're ok.

Congratulations natwesty, sorry you've had a rough time of it but I'm glad you are both on the mend.

Student mrs as Gilly said it can come and go and if you are still positive at 36 or 37 weeks I think it is, you'll have antibiotics in labour.my sister was like you and tested for something else in her last pregnancy and it was discovered she had strep b. this was at about 35 weeks. They sent her a letter to let her know she needed the antibiotics in labour but my nephew was born at 37 weeks and the letter came after he was born. Fortunately he was fine

I'm glad you got tested and at least they know it's there Hun. Hope u doing ok. In having a weepy evening. My best friends husband has jut left her. Thy been in a rocky marriage for a while but just found out she was cheating on him. Makes me really sad.

Mrs student try not to worry hun. I think it's one of those things that is beat found out early on so they can take precautions and that's all it is chick. They give antibiotics during labour as a precaution. Xx

Thank you all. I was just telling someone today that I'll prob be an overprotective mum as I am a born worrier - even though my name is supposed to mean warrior! and this didn't help. Hoping the antibiotics clear it, discharge has already got better after canesten so who knows?

ikkle, good luck for your test. Hope you can have a relaxing weekend without worry. Are you working at all? I work tomorrow morning but that is it, can't wait for lie ins!

rj, that sounds awful. I hate that situation, why do people feel the need to stray from the vows - grr. At least she has you to cry on, but I'm sure she wont mind if your hormones make you cry too!
