Hi ladies, just been reading back through the posts from the last few days.
Congratulations Safesound I love the name Jake
Big hugs to Lovecrafting xx
Still nothing to report from me
Have been keeping busy the lasy few days so as not to dwell on it being d-day. I even managed to play a few games of pool yesterday which must have looked hillarious to anyone watching!!
I ve now tried everything including hot curry, many many pineapples, DTD, bouncing on my ball and going for walks as long as I can manage. I guess this baby just isnt ready to come out yet!
But im only 2 days overdue and Im already a hormonal mess! Not sure how I will be if i go 2 weeks over. I was so convinced I was going to be early - wishful thinking!! Im feeling very sorry for myself today - can you tell?! LOL I keep bursting in to tears for no reason. Is that normal?!
Just cant wait for mummy cuddles now and I feel like I ve been pregnant forever. Come on Pip!
Have also started getting all the "any news?" texts which arnt helping. I know people just care but some people feel the need to ask me for an update every day and it makes me even more frustarted as I feel like everyone is waiting for me. That may sound silly but I feel under pressure from people to give them some news.
Sorry for the rambling post, needed to let it all out. Hopefully something will happen soon0 -
Wow lovecrafting - that's all you need right now! Hugs to you, i hope your OH makes a speedy recovery. Don't forget to remember to look after yourself as well as the family, though.
emsbet - whatever you do don't go to your 20-week scan with too much of a full bladder! I didn't, as was told I didn't need to, but it was just as well as the sonographer stuck the whatever-its-called right into my tummy quite hard, and I thought I was gonna wet myself! :rotfl:
Well I haven't done as much today so far as I'd hoped, have run out of energy! I did go to the builders merchants to buy floorboards, and did the strengthening/repairs that needed doing before the new staircase goes in tomorrow. And I did go to the bank. But I haven't done any wood-staining yet. My mum came over and we walked round to the local John Lewis for a look around, and had a cuppa at the cafe - very nice but not very productive!
I just feel knackered now, could easily fall asleep but don't want to as on a normal work day I wouldn't be able to sleep at this time....roll on maternity leave though!

big hugs and labour vibes Charli! I'm an emotional mess today too and im still 11 days from my due date! I just want to meet my baby and want my ribs to not hurt anymore!
I'm really unhappy with the midwife service - saw another one today, since 16 weeks I've seen a different one everytime I've gone in and today she measured me and didn't even bother to tell me the measurement until I asked, I wanted to ask about induction etc and my sis' wedding but just felt peed off as she wasn't really listening to how concerned I am about missing her big day, I get that the baby will come when she's ready but with some proper discussion my mind could have been better put to rest :mad:I just think given we don't have antenatal classes having regular contact with one professional isn't too much to ask0 -
little_miss_moneysaver wrote: »Happy We're the same, my OH joked once we found out that "we've planned this well, think of all the car bootsales we can go to!" We're having a boy and I got three massive carriers bags for £20 the other day, again lots of Next, Gap and places I would never buy from for babies. Most of them hardly been worn.
I don't know about locally to everyone else, but on facebook there are lots of local groups for baby stuff. One is called free or cheap, another is just for baby stuff. So far we have got a free cot, a baby bath trolley for a fraction of Mama's and Papa's cost in immaculate condition, bouncy chair and today I found a lady around the corner giving away a lovely seat/swing thing. For those on Facebook may be worth searching some in your area. Also when bubba has grown out of things then I can resell them.
Have you joined Freegle hun? Its just like freecycle, theres loads of baby stuff coming up on our local one although I'm yet to be lucky enough yet.
We have been looking at a few cots on ebay. Have been given a crib by my friend and am just hoping to get a few other bits and pieces at car boots and on freegle/facebook/ebay in the next few months now.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

Charli82 big hugs to you! Don't worry about the rambling post, just get it all out of your system!
Love all the messages about car boot bargains and Ikkle87 - thanks for the tip about freegle - I'll be looking at that this evening! Said to OH that we should look to get everything second hand/free cos a lot of things will only get used once or twice and baby things are expensive enough as it is! For once, he actually agreed with me! Saw some gorgeous Winnie the Pooh baby gros in a charity shop for 49p - they looked brand new! I didn't buy them at the time cos I wasn't 12 weeks and I didn't want to tempt fate but I am going on the search for bits and pieces now. Have managed to bag a rocking chair on freecycle which I am picking up tomorrow; a lick of paint and some comfy cushions and it will be perfect for the nursery!0 -
yeah I'm on freecycle, we've been holding off really until the 5 month scan to know everything was ok and typically in the few weeks leading up to it there were loads of baby bits! I'll keep my eyes open on there. I had been looking at cots on ebay as they are so cheap but one kind of caught my eye on the mothercare website and is only £100 so I think we'll go for that one
I must sit down soon and write a list of things we need as people keep asking what they can buy for baby and that way we'll know what we dont need to get.**** Itchin' for a glitchin' ****0 -
Thanks Ikkle will have a look later properly. There is one for my town
Seems I need to set up a yahoo address so I'll play later.
MissMonkeyMoo I can't believe how expensive everything is new. I've done a spreadsheet of what we've got so i can see how much we've saved and it's amazing. Nobody will know what is new or secondhand unless they gave it to you lol.
After the 12 week scan we started getting things if we saw them at a good price. Now we know it's a boy we can start accumulating clothes etc.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j
:jSecond menace arrived safely 13th February 2014 :jDebt Free Wannabee 20150 -
Thankyou ladies. Its funny how posting on here helps and makes you feel that we are all in a similar situation
Im seeking comfort with a left over whispa easter egg!
Amymo that is bad that you have seen a different midwife at almost every visit. I have had a mix of 3 but luckily they have all been quite supportive. I completely understand about the timing of your sister's wedding. Id have the same questions as you in your position and it would be nice for you to at least have some acknolwedgement! Hopefully nature will help you alongxx

Can I just say AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
I'm sooooooo excited / scared / AAAAHHHHHHH! its so REAL now, only 3 and a bit weeks til my due date!! I've written a list of baby essentials (i know its quite late) - can anyone recommend some good sites for bits and pieces like sleepsuits, muslins, etc?
I'd love to get all that ordered tonight but don't wantr to order in haste if there are offers on anywhere. ideas??
well done to all those who have had their babies recently. I really enjoyed reading Happydays updates - well done. Dizzi get a complaint in to that hospital I would say - bad attitudes all round :-(
If anyone remembers me posting about my suspected SPD it was diagnosed as Pelvic arthropathy and I now have a fetching support belt and crutch - yay! I'm much more attractive now :-) Its much better these days though so I can't complain too much.
I can't say I've had any braxton hicks - thats not a bad thing is it? Baby moving around constantly though - my belly is doing mexican waves all the time.
Well, thats me - out of lurkdom to ask 40 questions and now retreats back into the shadows.:o

((hugs)) Charli and Amymo
Sorry gtothec I've no good suggestions as I haven't bought anything yet. Hopefully one of the other ladies might know the answer.
I've now done three doors (two bedroom and one side of the airing cupboard- no one sees the inside) going to leave the other two until tomorrow.
Just got to wash up and make tea. Can't decide whether to do gammon or salmon pie ....
