    Morning ladies.

    Congrats Ro.

I also did the rounds of the supermarkets last night with my vouchers! Just a word of warning, I think some ladies had managed to use the free huggies starter pack voucher in Asda and get £5 off the bill so 2 packs and only pay £1, it didn't work in my ASDA, it only took off £3 for one pack so I ended up paying for the other one. however when I went back in having ripped some of the coupons out of the box I accidentatlly gave them a Euros coupon. It didn't scan but the lady just said 'it's the same as the other one' and scanned the first one again! Also, if you want the little swimmers they are £3 in the baby event and then the voucher gives you £2 off so only £1 a pack. I've cut out the rest of my vouchers now so I might pop and get some more at lunch if I can be bothered then tomorrow I'm going to tesco to use the wipes vouchers. Oh and I got the nature baby nappies too, they had them in sainsbury's near me, 1/3 off so with the £4 voucher they cost me 38p, I got size 3 as that was the smallest they had but they'll get used eventually, even if I go with re-usables after the first few weeks as I'll want disposables for when we're out.

I now have sciatica! Its not too bad, just twinges when I move in certain ways, can't really complain as I have iffy hips at the best of times so I thought I may be one of those poor people who suffer with SPD from really early on but touch wood I've been pretty much ok so far.

Really looking forward to a week on Sunday, I have SnoopyTweety and another girl who's PG (never met her, it's MIL's best friend's daughter) coming to my house for tea and cake! ooh Snoopy, I'm going to bake a cake or something so if theres anything in particular you like (or don't like!) let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Gin, just thinking about your leg cramps, it might be different in pregnancy but I know its generally recommended to eat a banana a day to help with leg cramps. its something to do with the potassium they contain. Might be worth a try if nothing else helps!

I am looking forward to it too - is so nice to be building up a network of friends near to me, I am much like the other ladies here, and I moved here for OH's job initially and don't have family or friends close, and as a result of distance have drifted from a lot of those friends I had else where, so was really worried about being lonely with a new born baby. But I don't feel that way anymore - just hope Lisa that you are ready for it lol!

As for anything I don't like - not really, other than I am not overly keen (but will eat) stuff with rabbit droppings in (modt dried fruit, with the exception of cherries) lol - I know that makes me sound very childish but have never liked stuff like that, even though I did feed you a slice of christmas cake last weekend lol!

I have never been able to get the Asda baby pack coupon to print - and where do I find all the asda coupons you are talking about? x x

    Yay, shiny new thread! :j

I have been awol for a few days as our internet has been playing silly b*ggers.

Massive congrats to all those ladies that have delivered their little ones, well done :) I still have ages to go but having said that, time is ticking away quite quickly!

I mentioned a while back that someone at work was selling some reusable nappies...well I picked them up the other day, and they're brilliant! I haven't actually counted them all, but basically I've got enough nappies and wraps to last me until LO is potty trained (except I prob need a couple of small size wraps), plus a nappy bin and loads of the paper liners - all for £40 :) Bargain, even if we end up using a mixture of washables and disposables (more than likely!)

Also, we've bought a lovely-looking cot from someone at DH's work, for £30, DH is picking that up tonight. I'm only 19 weeks so it's a bit early to buy things, really, but when we see good bargains it seems silly not to. We're not actively shopping yet though!

Got my 20-week scan on Tuesday, looking forward to that although feel quite nervous at the same time.

Thanks for all the tips on using coupons - you guys are pros! I've hardly ever used them before, so will have to read up on how to best use them before venturing to the shops.

    Have a good day everyone

    BB x

  • Congratulations Ro!! How lovely it was a blue one, we seem a bit short on boys!

I would like to know about the Asda vouchers as well please. I did get a coupon ages ago when I joined their baby club but they never had the starter packs in stock on the odd occasion that I went there (dont really have a local one)

Looking forward to watching OBEM tonight :)

As you know I'm the same, moved to live with DH and like you I don't know anyone....except you now!!

The ASDA coupons, if you can get the free huggies starter pack one to print then you get one of those and inside it there are vouchers for £2 off a pack of huggies newborn, £2 of a pack of huggies swimmers and £1 off a pack of wipes. You can use the £2 off newborn to get another starter pack and they are £3 in the asda baby event so you get them for £1 and then you get another set of vouchers inside that one. The vouchers are not just for asda, you can use them anywhere. At the minute Tesco have the wipes on buy 1 get 2 free so with the £1 off you get 3 packs of wipes for about £1.50.

If you can't get the asda voucher to print to get the free pack then its still worth getting one to get the vouchers. Also, if you got the emma's diary packs there is a free huggies nappy in there with a voucher for £1 off so you could get one for £2.

I have also been stocking up on washing powder and fabric conditioner too. only trouble is there's nowhere to put it so DH has put it in the loft! I can see some of the nappies and wipes ending up up there too!

Oooh just remembered, my cotbed set is being delivered today :D

Just need to order a matress now, think I'm going to go for a rochingham one that I've seen on offer in boots, its half the price of the silentnight one I'd seen and seems to be very similar, and the silentnight ones are made by rochingham!

Ok, how to cope with the cramps? At just after 5am I was screaming my head off! I had two cramps on my right leg - one near the knee on the right side, and on in the ankle, so could do any stretching, and then a tiny one on the left leg (which I only felt after the right leg relaxed). OH tried to massage it, but it only resulted in me screaming more... I still have the 'residues' of the cramps in both legs, hope they won't come back during the day!

I was in pain, could do nothing to help it, and all I could think was that I do not want to be like the screamer woman from OBEM! By the time it all passed, it was nearly time to get up, so a bit short on sled this morning...

Try cutting down on salt? I got cramp in labour, funny how even with the other pain, I still felt the cramp!
  • Just re-registered on Asda Baby Club to get the voucher and I still can't print it - the only computer I have is my works one, and it won't let me install the coupon printer thing - aaaarrrggghhhh - I want one now!!! Blummin thing, why cant it just be a picture you print???? Thanks for the above Lisa, I will do it somehow lol x

    Congratulations Ro!

In-laws have decided they'll be visiting for 5 days from 13th Feb... so they might not even get to meet their grandchild if I'm overdue! At least they'll be staying elsewhere :) We haven't told anyone about the home birth plans - apart from the midwife - so they'd get quite a shock if they were staying and the baby decided to arrive ;) It's about 12 hours travelling, so it'll be some time before we're brave enough to try a car trip with a baby for that length of time to go and visit them.

As for cramps, I'm getting one a week or so in my leg now when I move around in bed. Great for scaring DH when i leap out of bed going 'AARGH'. I'm already on a banana a day, so that's not really helping I don't think.

Had to get up last night for a glass of milk and a shortbread biscuit as I had horrible heartburn, very annoying as I thought it had pretty much disappeared over the last couple of weeks. Our cat is meant to be on a diet, but I had to get her extra biscuits to get her back in the kitchen for the night, so at least she'll be pleased if it happens again...
