Happy, glad you've got your pain relief. I hate being in pain as well and in the past while in hospital I've not had any qualms about sending another patient's visitors to harass the nurses on my behalf - they're usually happy to go and pass on a message.

My neurologist has recommended that I should include my general anti-seizure medication and the prescription co-codamol tablets I have at home when packing my hospital bag so I can medicate myself (obviously making sure the nurses know what I've taken and when).

Hugs to Rebecca, I was like that two weeks ago - spent a couple of days crying at everything. I blame hormones. Don't feel like you'd bring us all down if you are feeling upset and want to moan - that's what we're here for - sharing the lows as well as the highs *hugs*

Is there a list somewhere, for medical issues that people have suffered from (on this forum) and steps that people have taken (successfully or otherwise) to resolve the issues?

My lovely wife's kinda flipped out today, her varicose vains are getting much worse (well, bad but not to the point where they are really problematic)... but other than unsightly, how do you classify varicose vains as problematic? She's been told to get a pair of compression tights, managed to get the GP to prescribe a pair, but refused to wait and has ordered some online. My concern is that she'll OD on compression, and restrict the blood so much that it'll make her legs worse, or harm the baby.

Anyone got any thoughts? Comments? Suggestions on what to say to DW, other than go ahead, if that's what you really want to wear...?

This woman in the next bed is rather strange!!!
She appears to be in high heels and a power suit but she tells me she has been here two days. I have a t shirt and some wet knickers on. Now tell me who wins the fashion wars.

Now that is the problem. He had a tidy up of out of date stuff from the cup[boards and over loaded the bag. Was too heavy to lift out the bin so I dragged it to the door and asked him to take it down. He refuses as I wanted bin at bottom of drive way instead of outside the door where it's unsightly.

Er...not sure about the compression to be honest. Maybe the midwife would know?
