hi all, queue jumper here :)

Elliot arrived at 2.15pm on Sat 21st weight 6lb 14oz. Got the home birth but then had 2 nights in hospital with retained placenta, blood pressure all over the place, lots of drips and a transfusion. Anyway home now and doing ok, just sore and tired. Will post proper birth story at some point!

Hi all, I find this thread difficult to keep up with so only pop on every so often - just spent 15 minutes going through a few pages.

Congratulations to everyone who's given birth, the photos are wonderful :)

I was interested by the discussion on savoury/sweet. I craved savoury and salty things for the first 10 weeks which I had presumed was because I didn't have enough salt in my diet. Now I'm craving sweet things. As baby has generally been considered awkward at all the antenatal appointment so far I'm guessing s/he's just making it difficult to guess :)

As for blue/pink jobs I think we're reasonably well balanced in our house. Blue jobs are ironing, sunday roast, car maintanence, most of the DIY which requires drills/power tools, mowing the lawn/trimming the hedges. I generally do most of the cleaning, cooking, washing up, clothes washing, food planning and making shopping lists but we go food shopping together because I don't drive.

He enjoys cooking so will often cook at weekends (got fairy cakes and roast chicken over the weekend :) ) but because he works and I don't I generally do most of the housework, make him sandwiches in the morning for lunch and have dinner ready when he gets home as at the moment he's leaving the house at 7:30am and not getting home until 7pm.

My DH and I share most chores evenly to be honest but that's because I've been studying PT and working FT for the last three years, I would do more if I had the time, I quite like cleaning and practical jobs! I know I'm lucky to have him, my Dad does nothing around the house and I always said I wouldn't stand for that ;) we look after each other although one job DH does and I don't is make cups of tea, that man's tea is AMAZING and I don't like anyone else making it, myself included!

Congrats to Bluebell, sounds dramatic, glad all is well!

Congrats Bluebell! Hope u and baby are doing well xx

I found the link http://www.csp.org.uk/sites/files/csp/secure/acpwh-pgppat_0.pdf hth :) it is 15 pages tho lol!

Oh i craved savoury at the start, but am now firmly stuck back in the chocolate aisle haha! And anything else thats sugary, including fizzy drinks :( ALtho i think sometimes i eat sugary stuff when i feel rough with the low blood pressure. (am currently sat stuffing my face with raspberry trifle ;) ) xx

    Congratulations Bluebell :)

Seems like we were all the same then, savoury at the start and then sweet now, so maybe that is the thing for boys? :p

Good Luck tomorrow Gin, you will need to hurry back and tell us, have you any idea? :p

    Sorry to blow the theory!!:D
I couldnt bear sweet things (other than fruit) for the first 4 or 5 months, savoury all the way, esp lots of cheese! Unfortunate as i fell PG just before Easter, so didnt fancy eating any of my eggs! Then Boooooom! Round about 3rd Tri, I fell out of the savoury tree hitting every sweet branch on the way down- esp ice cream and sour fruit pastilles. nom nom nom.

And as you know, i very much had a little girlie! Interesting that i had horrible acid indigestion, and ended up with a LO with a full head of hair. So did Lirin and Jen.. Maybe some truth in that one after all. The m/w thought there was.

    PS, Congrats Bluebell!!

I have no idea. I have pilates class after the scan, then need to take my car for the service, so it will probably be only in the afternoon that I can update you.

I think it's to do with male sperm being faster swimmers than female ones, which are slower but last longer. I think that's the right way round.

If that was the case, all IVF pregnancies would be boys, no? That would mean I am having two boys...
