Isn't it strange that a lot of women seem to have a "cooking" time for babies.

From what I can remember Sammie went a few days over due with all her boys, Emmylou was the same, and Delain was overdue with her 5 girls. I was speaking to a midwife when I was in labour about this and she said it's very common.

Well I'm hoping that it's nothing to worry about, and everything will be ok, but can't help worrying anyway. I was teaching at an infant school this morning and the entire year-group of children were standing around one teacher on the playground. I was in the middle of the group and suddenly one child got over-excited, and suddenly swung his arms and elbows and hit me right in the baby tummy. I haven't had any spotting or anything, and no visible sign of a bruise on my tummy, but it does feel a bit tender if I put any pressure on it. My friend says I shouldn't worry as she fell over and all sorts when pregnant with her first baby and she was fine, but this is slightly different. Do you think I need to get checked out, or shall I just hope for the best? I don't want to appear like a hypercondriac.

I'm sure you'll be ok SM, bubs is very well protected in there with all the amniotic fluid but I can understand why you are worried. Having said that I would give your midwife a ring just to let her know and double check to see if she thinks you need to be checked over.

Sexymouse - as Emsbet says I'm sure you are ok as you do have a lot protecting the baby in the womb. But if peace of mind will alleviate the stress I can't see any harm in calling the midwife and just asking. That's what they get paid for!!!

    How was the Chinese Emsbet?

And hello Emmy...hope Flynn is being a good little boy for you. Is it strange having a boy after all those girls?

We're good. On medication and special milk now and it's all going swimmingly, until he started teething, already! One thing after another.

    How was the Chinese Emsbet?

Crap :( They sent me vegetables and cashew nuts instead of the pork and cashew nuts. It had loads of broccoli in it which is no good as I have two food aversions this pregnancy (and the last), chicken and broccoli. So I had boiled rice, cashews, some of DH's beef and something and some curry sauce.
