Triangle, just saw you have a westie, I love terriers, we have a wee lakeland terrier, he's been resting his head on my tummy lately, sure he has a feeling for what's going on in there!

Oh Amy, I adore lakeland terriers! Such beautiful faces :) Its so funny that your boy has been doing that...the Westie has to me too! They are obviously both very highly intelligent and gorgeous boy dogs :D

Thanks hon, I'm good thanks, scared stiff I'm going to have a March baby rather than a June one, but other than that, good. How are you doing?

Had a bath, as I know some witchcraft goes on which reacts with the labetalol and makes my bp drop - it went from 162/114 before the bath to a much more respectable 124/88 afterwards.

Hope you managed to get to the hospital OK Dinah, let us know how you got on. I'm not doing too bad thanks, getting SPD knocked me for six though - I'd never heard of anything like it before getting pregnant...and I've never experienced pain like it! Back at work on a phased return after nearly a month off. Pain still comes and goes but resting helps :) Hope you are OK too Dizzi xxx

Lovely story about scan Sexymouse :) I have two pairs of maternity leggings from New Look I practically live in, some smart work maternity trousers also from there and best jeans I have found are from Mothercare. I want to get some 3/4 length canvas trousers now - may have a browse on ebay.

Midwife appointment this afternoon - 26 week one - looking forward to hearing heartbeat again :)

  • Welcome sexymouse, glad your scan went ok. I'm finding the 12-24w thread pretty quiet too so lurking here :-) also got a couple of mat jeans and tops from new look. Really comfy and not overpriced.

Ravenlady - I love that your hubby looked and now needs therapy, am not sure OH will cope well, I'm not sure I wanna peek either! Congrats again.

Hope your appts went well to all that have/had them today. Am seeing my obstetrician this pm. Not really sure what he/she (though I think he) is going to do with me. Finished my last night shift this morning so I hope nothing too taxing :-S I'm hoping this "high risk" label will be explained a bit more as it makes me a bit panicked really, and I'd love a home birth :-) least I'd get a decent cuppa of nowt else.

I am loving all the talk of choccy and munchies. Gave up choccy for lent so am now dreaming of Easter when I can munch away.
Happy - wispa golds are the bestest ever. Can't wait to try new cadburys bubbly I keep seeing these on bill boards teasing me. I'm def a cadburys girl! Oh yummy, yummy *licking my lips and salivating*

SexyMouse - have just noticed you got married on my birthday last year, and your Bean is due on my husband's birthday! Spooky but lovely too! :)

Re trousers, i'm living in my Gap Always skinny full panel maternity jeans that i'v been in since 12 weeks, they're as comfy as leggings and i'm lucky i can wear them to work. Gap have a big sale on at the moment and there were some other maternity trousers that look a bit smarter (as I can wear what i want to work I didn't try them on though). And i picked up some lovely plain vest tops that are £5 each, and some nice tshirt tops for £7 each. All of which washed well at the weekend :) Pretty sure the sale is online too.

I've also found the most comfy leggings are from Jojo Maman, a bit pricy at £20 but they wash and wear well and don't tend to go as baggy at the knees as the cheaper ones do.

Ravenlady - congratulations and thanks for brightening up my morning and given me hope! Enjoy your cuddles! Am hoping for a nice quick and not too birth just like yours (although am still hoping the stock will sort it all out when i'm asleep - has anyone got the appointment hotline number for said Stork? Will pay in easter eggs!)

I hope your appointment goes well Triangle.

    xxx

ps. the boys at work have just told me the small Cadburys Creme egg easter eggs are £1 in sainsburys next door.... 2 creme eggs and an easter egg... My resistance has lasted 2 hours so far and is severely waining!!!

Ah only ten more days of work (over two and a half weeks) after today - can't wait to get finished!!

DH and I have finally got the lovely living room we've always wanted thanks to our new carpet and furniture reshuffle so looking forward to tackling our bedroom next, just need a big clear out and spring clean in there, LO's nursery is just about finished, would be nice to get a rug in there but not the be all and end all, and then I think I'll just stop and think "right, I'm ready to have a baby now!"

(P.S. choc club update - I have a dairy milk whole nut bar in my bag and it's calling my name ever so loudly!) - bit worried about cutting out my lovely new bad habits when LO gets here, haven't weighed myself in weeks either!

Oh how strange about the dates rakkibeth - April 8th is also my friend's birthday. My late grandfather was born on 28th September, and I can't help feeling he's watching over me and that this is when Bean will arrive. If we have a boy, we will be using my grandfather's name as his middle name (Ian).

Ladies you will be apalled to hear that since I've been pregnant, I've completely gone off anything chocolate, with the exception of milkshakes, but at the moment, they are more for medicinal purposes (heartburn) than anything else.

I struggled to find any maternity trousers for work that were long enough for me. For casual ones though, I'd highly recommend maternity yoga pants, i have 2 pairs, one from matalan and one from H&M. the H&M ones are longer than the matalan ones. I'd highly recommend matalan for maternity clothes, i have a few bits from there which were pretty cheap but are much better quality than the things I have from shops such as dorothy perkins and debenhams. newlook stuff is pretty good too.
