    *shy peek*

hello all you soon to give birth peeps. I'm not really here, I don't know why I'm here, and I definitely don't want to officially move over - as that'll mean that my wife is soon due to drop a baby on my doorstep...

    *runs away*

I hope your wife makes it to the hospital as doorsteps are very cold!!!

Don't worry, for two reasons. 1) she's due on July 3rd, should be nice and warm then... and 2) it's her birthday that very same day, so there'll be loads of birthday candles to heat up the doorstep... :j
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...

I'm another one that likes to see how much dirt the dyson has picked up :0)

Just got back from our Fetal Medicine scan, baby is still small but growing steadily. All fluids etc were fine. Femur still in 3rd centile but as other measurements are fairly small I think/hope we will just have a small baby. Have to go back for another one on 28th March to check growth again but also because the little monkey is breech with feet by face, wish I had their flexability!!

    Icey, hope your 'tickle' worked!

Glad your scan went ok Laura and let's hope in a couple of weeks your baby is head down.

Hi, I've been lurking for a while now but thout i would come and join in.

I'm firmly a yellow bump (i want the surprise), and I'm due 30th May.

My work aren't very useful/helpful at the moment, and just wondered of any of you know the rules about annual leave? Company policy is they just pay whatever you haven't taken at the end of the leave year (so 31st Dec). I have looked online, and some sites say this is ok, some sites say they arent allowed to do this and you should take the leave.

If I started my maternity on my due date, that would mean all of may and the last week of April off work as holiday...which sounds marvellous! But if I can get paid instead I will sadly have to pick that option as will need the cash.....anybody know if the choice is up to me or if it has to be a particular way? I would hate to not take the hol then find out too late that I have lost it...

My first proper day of maternity leave today, went swimming, went to the bank, re-checked my hospital bag, only needs some snacks and drinks, watched almost everything I've recorded on Sky +, gonna cook a cottage pie for dinner.

House is already clean, twindling my fingers, bit too early to start cooking dinner.

Fridge is stocked. I do have a gut feeling I've missed something though. I really hope this baby comes soon, otherwise I'm going to go stir crazy!!!

I think it depends on your company, I can't get it paid instead we have to use it or lose it basically. Whereas my brother could elect to get up to a week paid if he didn't take it it all, but anything over that week he'd lose(we work for different companies).

I think its best to contact your HR, hope this helps :)

Thanks Lola - unfortunately I'm in the process of taking my employer to a tribunal (not initially pregnancy related but they just keep adding to my list!) - and they are normally unhelpful and/or useless - HR tend to just not reply at all to queries....however given my current situation with them, nobody in terms of management/HR etc will talk to me about anything really - which is why I wondered if there was a nice clear cut law I could rely on instead :(

Been signed off with stress and first day back is tomorrow - I will of course fire off an email to HR but not holding out any hope of a reply any time soon :-/
