well done emmy, sounds like you done really well. :T
i bet the girls were so excited, how have they taken to having a baby brother? at least you will have lots of little helpers on call
glad your dh was amazing support for you, i had mine in a headlock when i was pushing with ds2!! the midwives were more worried about how his neck was the next day rather then how i was after pushing an 8lb baby out of my foof!!
just hoovered upstairs and downstairs and just going to put some washing away, also set up the steriliser this morning in the kitchen and put bottles and dummies inside!! im really running out of things to do before baby arrives nowmight go to my grandparents this afternoon and pick up my car seat and pushchair they have kindly looked after for me.
hope everyone is ok. xx

Just thought i'd post a little update seeing as I'm on...
Thursday evening baby wasn't moving as much as it was normally for that time but put it down to her just having a quiet evening. Got up the following morning (I was at home that day as I was due a midwife apt at 1ish). No movement still until midwife appointment apart from the odd twitch - I wasn't sure if that was me or baby moving
Made it to my midwife appointment and was happy to hear babys heartbeat, but did mention to her that movement was limited or hardly there. She told me to try the cold water trick and if I'm still not happy, call antenatal unit. Still not happy when I got home as still very quiet in my tummy - but a little assured cos heartbeat was there. Called the antenatal unit and went in at 6pm where they put a trace on me. Heartbeat found and then baby decided to give me a few nudges... still not feeling them as much as I have been. The unit seem to think that baby has moved position (but all ok as they detected loads of movement) and hiding behind my anterior placenta so I'm not feeling as stonger movements... was getting really worried when it went all quiet, but felt like a right idiot when now I know baby is ok!! :j
Since, the movements have increased and the sensation has changed and in different places in my belly so i think she has just moved (hopefully engaging - as i'm nearly 35 weeks). But OMG she has moved into a right uncomfortable position, giving my ribs a good pounding!
I really do hope this baby comes a little early...!
Anyways enough of my update... good luck to the boldies... i'm getting closer to the top now!!

When you add in the cost of the cushions and footstool it worked out about the same as the Ikea ones anyway.
As for nursery curtains - we've just put the same ones back up that were in the room originally (plain cream) but I had some funky ribbon from a Lush parcel someone had bought me that I've cut in half to make tiebacks to snazz them up (if I get motivated I'll actually sew the ribbon onto the curtains but I doubt that's realistically going to happen). Put blinds up in there as well (obviously with the cords cut to ridiculously short levels for safety) which I'll actually use rather than the curtains since none of the curtain poles in this house aren't utter pains in the rear to pull curtains along (and the walls are so awful to drill into that replacing them's not a faff I can be bothered with... joys of a 1920s house).
Tooth seems better - had another disturbed night from her ladyship deciding to do some interior remodelling on my innards but at least got some sleep which is progress! Currently washing the latest batch of cardigans and hats my mum's been knitting for me - this kid's going to have so many hand knitted cardies it's nuts! MIL knitted one, concluded she hated knitting and gave up - my mum's like a demon with knitting needles!
Need to get through to B+M when I next have the car - they have some bubble small mirror tiles I want to put on the cupboard doors in the nursery, then toying with mirroring the bubbles with applique silk on the plain curtains and painting some bubbles in the colours I used on the shelves onto the cupboard doors as well - basically trying to snazz up a fitted cupboard a bit... think in years to come I'm going to actually paint the cupboard doors in blackboard paint.
Thankyou Dizzi and ginvzt for your comments on this.
I had been wanting a glider chair but had decided I'd get the Ikea Poang one as that was a cheaper alternative and I'd always fancied one of them. Anyway - Dizzi i clicked on your link and saw that chair and thought.. I'll google it and see if its any cheaper anywhere else neaer me as that's nearly the same price as the poang one. Anyway - there was one on gumtree in my area for £50 ONO - hardly used. I emailed them and picked it up yesterday for £40 and its fab! I love that the stool rocks as well and my hubby loves it too.. I think there may be a fight as to who uses it.
They had bought it at the local pram centre for £200+!0 -
Congratulations emmylou
Labour vibes to all the boldies.
*hugs* to Goppers - glad baby is OK. Don't feel like an idiot, it's much better to be get checked out and find out everything's fine than ignore your worries and something go wrong.
I'm feeling really dozy this morning, got loads to do but cannot seem to get up the energy. Received an appointment from my neurosurgeon for the 26th which confused me because at my last appointment he said he didn't want to see me unless I felt I needed to see him. I can't make the appointment because my OH is working so it'd take me 3 hours (setting off at 7am) to get there on public transport which for a 10 minute appointment is excessive.
Called the secretary to see why I had an appointment at all and apparently my obstetrician has written a letter basically saying he needs my neurosurgeon to see me because I'm pregnant. This despite the fact that my neurosurgeon said in his last letter that he didn't need to be involved because what he sees me for is irrelevant in terms of pregnancy.
I was really dithery on the phone and couldn't keep my head and dates straight at all. It seems like I have baby related appointments all the time. But the secretary was lovely and is going to speak to the consultant to see if he can see me at a more convenient time or just do a telephone consultation.
Things I'm most looking forward to after birth (other than having a baby) are:
having my brain back and not bursting into tears all the time
not having strong headaches
and being able to tie my shoes laces/bend forward without hurting my tummy and head.0 -

Glad everything went well Emmylou and you are back home with baby Flynn.
Labour vibes to boldies and others who are fed up with still being pregnant.
After my dyeing the shirts debacle it just got worse. They go dyed pink and then i managed to bleach them back to white. For some reason i then decided it would be a good idea to wash them again with a pair of navy jeans. The result is now my son has lovely baby blue shirts!!! Im just gonna buy more as i have a feeling they are ruined.
Also last night i made my DS soup. To his utter hilarity i then got a plate out of the cupboard and started pouring it on that. He was on the floor in hysterics but i could have just run off. I think im going mad.
Also, can anybody help me? Everytime i stand up i feel like i am being shot in my foof. Its not a pleasurable experience and i have no idea why. Any clues?
Oh and flutterby, glad you are back home and all is ok.
