Just back from the dentist. Have abscesses in the gum around the tooth and in the root itself. She's managed to drain the gum ones, but can't even get to TOUCH the tooth at all despite numbing injections as it's just so painful. Won't give me antibiotics to start trying to knock it down at all - have to go to the GP for that - who's just going to send me straight back to the dentist again in some glorious game of ping-pong (I know I resemble a ball but really...) so at wits end with it all, dunno if it's worth even trying the GP at all, but sat here crying at the thought of more months of this flipping pain.
Got to go back in 3 weeks - but very much she put it all onto the GP saying if it's still hurting or gets worse go see them - and I know they'll just tell me to go see her... plus every appointment means I've got to faff on organising to get the car and drop hubby at work around his appointments because I can't manage the walk to the docs on crutches... so it's all just a terrible mess.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Oh dear Dizzi. Is it possible to get a telephone appointment with your GP to save you having to physically get in to the surgery?DS1 born June 2000

I don't even know if it's going to be worth it or if they're just going to tell me to go away whatever I do... I just want one night of actually being able to get some approximation of sleep without being in tooth pain all night. Last few nights I haven't even tried to get to sleep and just sat in front of the sofa with the TV on cos it's better than lying in bed clutching at my jaw.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Oh I'm sorry you are feeling so rubbish. I'm having an emotional breakdown today and think my hormones must be going crazy. My poor dad just phoned me up and I couldn't stop crying down the phone. I think this UTI is sending me delirious!!DS1 born June 2000

Happydays - I had a complete meltdown when I had my UTI so I know how you feel !!! I was sobbing on the floor and everything!!! I really feel for you. Did your m/w or Doctor recommend Lemon Barley water?? Apparently it neutralises the urine, making the symptoms more bareable and I found it began to work very quickly. I was also told to drink Cranberry juice once the UTI had gone, as its very good for clearing out the bladder, therefore ensuring the UTI doesn't return (which was what happened to me originally!!!) Good Luck - UTI's are hideous. x0

Dizzi *tell* your doctor you dentist has refused to give you antibiotics and has told you to go back to your GP. Dont let them fob you off, they have to give you something you have an infection, they cant just keep saying go to someone else, put your foot down woman. Play the hormonal woman if you have to but dont leave the surgery/get off the phone until they have agreed to give you something.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

Thanks Amy. I was just proper wailing like a baby and think I must be going crazy. It's just really knocked me off balance and whats stressed me is I gave them my sample last Thursday and only got my antibiotics yesterday. Then got a letter through the post this morning dated last Friday saying I needed them. Why not just phone me???? Honestly, I despair of thr NHS at times.
Going out in a bit to do a bit of shopping but even that seems like a giant task at the moment. Need to try and make myself look like I am actually alive first. I may be some time!!!DS1 born June 2000

Yeah - I know the staff at ante-natal yesterday were telling me I HAD to go to the dentists and get antibiotics for this tooth... now the dentist's telling me to go to the GP... just know the GP's going to send me somewhere else and I'm at my wits end. I can't eat properly, I can barely talk or function, as for sleep - haven't had more than snatched 5 minuteses in front of the telly for days.
Unfortunately it's the GP late night so can't even ring them till they reopen at 4 either.
Feeling incredibly sorry for myself - other people breeze through life, get pregnant easy, the word miscarriage doesn't enter their vocabulary, and then they have straightforward pregnancies - I've just gone from emotional to physical agony for years - when the heck is life going to cut me a break for a few months?!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
