  • Well I have back pain from hell, it feels its gonna snap in half!! So i bought a gym ball today and omfg its so comfy lol.
my mum says my bump has dropped since Tuesday when I last saw her and it was roughly since then I'm in agony.
I've had strong braxton hicks all day, I did with ds1 so its not a shock but was told if baby is posterior they tend to be painful rather than uncomfortable.

Got midwife on Tuesday so will bring it all up and advise her im finding it painful to walk and sit on the sofa because it feels like yhe baby is engaged? I don't remember pressure downstairs with ds1 until a couple of days before i gave birth.

Its "supposed" to make the dilating stage quicker and soften the cervix! I took it with DD2 and went from 1st contraction to fully dilated in 3 hours. I didnt boher with DD3 as the tea taste soooooo disgusting! But have now discovered the capsules so trying them again :D Its not advised u take them if u have had labours lasting less than 5 hours tho :o Juniper and Clary sage oils are also said to have the same effec and ur not suuposed to burn them at all b4 36 weeks i think it is! x

My babies have never engaged Cam so cant help u with that one i`m afraid. Everyone keeps telling me i wont be having this baby as i havent dropped yet, but never did with the girls and still managed to go into labour and have them :rotfl:They were all back to back so had pains all there once labour did start too tho. This is my first pregnancy where i`ve had BH, and blimey i`ve had enough to make up for all 4 pregnancies!!!! Hope u feel better soon xx

  • So when are you meant to start taking them?
My DS was engaged for a couple of weeks and it was painful to sit down as it just felt an unbelievable amount of pressure. I had terrible back problems at that stage but not sure whether that was just down to pure posture than anything else. Hope you feel better soon.

  • I was kidknapped by the midwives today for an hour until i could produce more wee, my first sample from this morning threw up +++sugar so they wanted more, feeding me biscuits and cups of tea! The cheeky so and so's.

I think they were more interested in the contents of ds's nappy bag though, having a good look at the cloth nappies and wipes (i had some custom holdens landings and weenotions in there) the mw dragged a student in to change his nappy, its a small community wing and they had no appointments or patients in so they made her learn about cloth as an 'educational' part of her training, i think they just wanted to laugh at her trying to figure out what to do with a wriggly 12 month old and a cloth nappy.

It turned out she was the same student who was at the bigger hospital who stayed on during my labour with him, she didnt get to see him though as he took forever but she recognised my tattoo's and last name.

    Small world.

Back from mothercare event. It was not very good in our place. No presentations. We arrived, lady said there is someone at pushchairs, someone about breastfeeding, someone at the car seats, there was a lady from the water babies and people from the gym. If you are interested, go and see them and ask. Well, I have no clue about most things, so don't even know what to ask!!! We talked about the car seats with a lady, it was ok, OH got a bit more clue about them.

The breastfeeding lady was more interested to talk about the slings and the sling 'library' she is trying to set up where you can hire slings to try them out. Ok, it was great to know, and useful, but nothing to do with breastfeeding! She had a few leaflets and numbers for support, so took those.

Then we went to look aoround the store more, looked at the bouncers/rockers/swings, OH said he prefers the swing. So we might get some of those. Looked at the baby baths, but I didn't like any they had in store. He is not sure about the nappy bin, I am keen to put one upstairs in the nursery.

We argued again about the nursery - he doesn't see a point of the changer, as the cot I got on eBay will come with the cot top changer, which I was thinking to use occasionally when we are both at home and are both changing babies or after the bath, but I still want a dresser with the changer on top, so I have space to keep things around.

Decided to get Indian on the way home, so stuffed now!

  • Had my appointment with the consultant today as I'm considered high risk from having a c section last time. I was expecting to be bullied into agreeing to deliver naturally (VBAC) but she was really nice and it looks like I've got another 6 weeks before I have to make some sort of a decision. If I knew I would definitely deliver naturally, then I absolutely would but I can't bear the thought of going through it all and ending up with an emergency section again.

Re the swelling, my right foot and calf are always worse too, and the carpal tunnel is worse in my right hand. I wondered if it was something to do with the vena cava and related to having to lie on your left at night?

Labour vibes to everyone that needs them, hope things start moving soon!

Gin - more persuasion required for a changing table to save your back! We don't have a proper one but wish we did upstairs and down. We have cobbled together solutions !

Hi ladies, hope you're all ok. I've had a quick read through but can't remember anything as too stressed about work having messed up my pay! Stupid idiots were meant to have sorted it yesterday but they haven't!
