I would be starving!!!!!! And dizzy - I had to get up in the morning to get some food, during the weekends I leave OH sleeping and go get my breakfast, as I just can't last. I would say, yes, taking something with you might be a good idea, but I would also be worried about driving, as I get dizzy and feeling funny without food!!!!

They haven't mentioned the GTT to me yet, so may need to ask next time I see consultant/midwife combo.

Me too - that is what I am worried about - not had any morning sickness at any stage (I know I am very lucky) but what Ii have had is the feeling of horrible nausea if I don't eat first thing in the morning when hungry, and as yet I ahve not tested what happens if I don't eat - so we will see! The Lucozade might see me through lol.

I don't drive so don't need to worry about that - am a bit gutted though, OH will be taking me and dropping me off, but he has to get back to work then so will be my first appointment on my own, and not looking forward to the anti d injection as it is. He is then going to come back and pick me up later on when I am done, still want him there though! x x

Ok, I officially can't eat anything. Anything I eat results in a horrid heartburn. Cereal for breakfast - heartburn, although not bad. Snack - yoghurt - heartburn. Lunch - carrot and coriander soup, slice of bread, banana - heartburn, thought it might all come up. Took 2 Rennie... Thought it helped.

Then later - apple - heartburn!!!!! Brought some Clementines with me to work, so thought I'll have one, and heartburn is just getting worse!!!! Had it Saturday, and all day yesterday. Not pleasant at all!!!!!

Any tricks how to reduce it?

Sorry Gin, nothing helpful to say, not had it myself so far (touch wood).

My sister swears by Rennie - but you already tried that, my mum used to suck on a piece of chalk but I actually just think she is barking!!!! x x x

I would like to find what I can eat that doesn't give me heartburn, as with iron tablets I am not supposed to be taking antacids as well. So, ok I don't mind taking it after lunch, but I can't do this with the dinner or breakfast!

Mines started with sharp sporadic pains. Get the tens on ASAP even on lowest setting can ramp it up if it becomes more established. Good luck xxx

well we're getting home today since little mister decided to take his first full booby feed. happy but nervous at the same time.

    Great news :)

I guess your TENS arrived in time then Gilly? I'd organised the hire of mine to start two days after Elliot arrived.... :rotfl: at least it saved me £5.

My midwife refused to be helpful with the raspberry leaf tabs question - all she could say was they arent allowed to recommend or say dont anymore. All she can say is if your going to take them dont start til 37 weeks as they could induce prem labour?!

32 weeks tomorrow eep how did that happen!!!

Heartburn - Im having a baby gorilla from the amount Im getting im sure. Strawberry gaviscon chewables are all I can stomach at the mo :s need to go the drs this week but its busy with appointments and other things grr

Huggies vouchers - i have Euro vouchers that are going to get binned unless anyone wants them???

    Congrats Gilly!!!

I had both, and the GTT wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I found someone else there to chat to who was having the test, and the time passed pretty quickly with a distraction. Make sure you drink the lucozade as fast as you can, as your time starts after it's finished!

Anti-D was quite a cold and odd feeling injection but OK. Have had to have another dose now as Elliot was rhesus positive so it's good that they check these things :) The midwife did the second injection at my house 71 hours after Elliot was born... I admit to getting a bit concerned by that point as it needs to be done within 72 hours and I wasn't sure when the midwife was coming round  But all was OK :)

Heartburn - ive found the more i eat the less I suffer with it :S Ie if i have a small snack ill get it but if i have a big meal i wont ?? Think my stomachs making too much acid so the more there is to be broke down the less the acid bothers me.
Milk helps a bit and Strawberry Frijj is good cause its a bit gloopy??

GTT I got told to eat normally up til the night before and then starve - otherwise itll just give a false reading and if you do have it then chances are it wont show but you might have to have it done again! Take a sandwich with you to eat after the test just in case. It wasnt that bad though - i just people watched and didnt need to read my book/play on my playbook or anything.
