Fluffnutter - happy due date! Hope you and all the other boldies are having some cuddles!
Thank you all (Kitten, ikkle, Charlie, mishka and anyone else I might have missed) for the help with the lying flat info for prams. DH hasn't actually seen it yet so I may not be able to get it. I've looked on ebay already ikkle and there's quite a few there so if we decide soon, I'll have a good chance of getting one on the cheap
Savage - I'm planning on breastfeeding too and have decided not to buy anything. I agree with kitten, that's what OHs are there for! I shall make a very comprehensive list of what we would need before hand and keep it with me so I can have it handy to give it to him if required.
choclover - Congrats! She is sooo cute!
cake4brains - Welcome!
moneypuddle - hope you're feeling better
Rups - we didn't buy anything at all until the 2nd scan. I'm 23+? and only have a moses basket+bedding+blanket and some nappies that are on offer on Mr S. It's completely up to you when you start buying stuff, 'whenever you fancy' is what I went for!
SM- sorry to hear you're no better. I hope you feel better soon.
Not much going on this end today. I have some bits and bobs to do this eve so unlikely to come back. Have a good eve everyone!:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
I'm not a handbag person at all and a rucksack-type bag seems more practical to me. Any ideas?
I'm currently using the Tesco luggage vouchers promotion rucksack - but I babywear (god I hate that phrase) a lot so a traditional changing bag wasn't working well for us. Front bit for bottles/formula cartons, main bit for nappies and changing stuff, laptop section at the back for changing mat, very very front bit for purse.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Hey everyone,
Welcome to all newbies!
I'm 30 weeks tomorrow, eek!
Think I may start jotting down a birth plan. Does anyone have any tips/templates of where to begin? I've no idea where to start!
Ooh and my changing bag came yesterday, it's beautiful
Thanks!0 -
Please could someone answer a question for me. I came from my scan 11 weeks 5 days, and i noticed after i left that the femur length of the baby was 5.2mm which was close to the left end (meaning it is well on the small side) of those little sort of line markers they put at the end of all your babies measurements to tell how average their size is according to est due date, TBH im kind of freaking out that something is wrong as i have already had such a bad start to pregnancy, can anyone tell me if they have had these kind of measurements or if im worrying about nothing.
crown rump length was 50.0mm & biparietal diameter was 17.7mm, wished i would have seen this before i left i could have asked them.xSPC Member#1096 Target £150 Feb Count £82.18

candycane & cake4brains welcome
Gemma, hope the funeral goes as well as can be expected.
katyliz - i cant believe you only had a student midwife there to support you, i find that quite shocking:oof course if this was the only option i would go for it.
Rups - as other people have said idea position is left side but i mostly sleep on my right side, sometimes on my left - but when both hips are hurting i end up on my back. apparently some pregnant women feel very unwell when laying on their back.
In terms of weeks and viability, i wont be happy till i hit the 37 week mark which is classed as full term. 35+2 at the moment.
i am not buying any special changing bag, although my sister uses a bag from paperchase which if i see one similar in the sale i will buy. just using an old bag i have at home or might go for the boots free one when you buy pampers.
my bag is packed for hospital - just using my small suitcase, will be giving OH some of babys stuff to put in his bag (he is mainly using his bag for food supplies) as blankets take up a lot of room.
wilkinson have pleet cotton wool in their baby section, nice and big for poo think it was only 88p.
with all thise heat, really fancying something cold so have brought lolly moulds from wilkinsons £2 to make my own. going to freeze some smoothie and just plain juices.
16th on the list - where has the time gone?!?!?

If the markers are 'on the left side' they are still on the scale ? which would make me think within what they are expecting to find,
In my experience if they have even the slightest concern they get you back for further testing,Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

a femur length of 5mm is spot on average for just under 12 weeks hun. CRL of 50mm is exact for 11+5 as well, at the beginning of pregnancy babies heads are much bigger than the rest of their bodies so the measurments might sound odd but I assure you they aren't I even got my notes out to double check for you. xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Just quickly having a nosey whilst on the pc!
Emsbet I do get dry skin, but it's not obviously dry IYSWIM? prob just a phase. I've tons of aqueous, E45 wash/cream etc so have been smoothering myself with that.....then the cat will jump on me and I look like I've not waxed for a year cos all the hair sticks to me lol.
Bellola I saw one on NHS choices, but also on Cow&gate and HIPP websites. I think one day I just googled for ideas. I have a really comprehensive one which includes lots of little details and if 5 pages long, but it has no info on where it is from. I copied it to my iPad.....hang on I googled.....
http://www.nct.org.uk/sites/default/files/BirthPlan-HospitalBirth.pdf
I saved it for ideas for extra little bits really. And it's all in stages of labour so you can pick and choose.
Sexymouse sorry you're not feeling any better, big hugs
Hope Fluff is ok, not seen her today!
Well I'm shattered! My sister and kids came over and they bought the Moses basket. It is so beautifulwill try and get a pic tomorrow of it. She also bought a MASSIVE I think 3kg bag of jelly sweets and force fed them to me so bubba would get excited.....and he did so she's over the moon. I dread to think what she'll bring next week!! She's taken pics for facebook too.
Well I'm off to bed, hope everyone is ok and sleeps well in this heat:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j
