Congrats Kelda!

Missmonkeymoo I will be 37 weeks on Friday. I've been feeling a lot better today although still tired. The last two blood results came back as me being anaemic as well so I've started taking a multivitamin containing iron. I hope that's ok – the midwife said to go back on Pregnacare but I ran out and it's really expensive unless it's on offer. Is a cheaper substitute ok?

Bit annoying, my husband's work colleagues apparently are all convinced that baby will be 1–2 weeks late because he's my first! I don't really want to be a balloon for another 5–6 weeks or be induced. Isn't it annoying when people start telling you what they think will happen? It's like my husband's parents who 'knew' that baby would be a boy before I had the 20 week scan. And they ended up being right!

I've only had 2 days off work so far (holiday this week, maternity leave starts next week) and I'm already feeling like I don't know what to do with myself. I've done a bit of housework and sorting out a huge box of papers (bank statements, receipts, that sort of thing) but if I feel at a loss not being at work imagine how I'll be when I've been at home for months! Better not go crazy My husband came home at 4pm today and I was so glad to see him, it was such a relief! Talk about needy ...

I've been looking at more prams today and my 'shortlist' is getting longer rather than shorter! I'm taking DH to have a look at the contestants on Friday/Saturday and hopefully we'll be able to make a decision then.

Question: I know newborns need to lie flat on pram but does it have to be 180 degrees flat or can it be almost flat (154 degrees)? I'm in love with this one: http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_131691_10001, just need to find out whether it's really suitable for newborns (it's not fully flat!) and find it cheaper elsewhere!

It says that it is suitable from birth so should be fine, think Kiddicare are quite good with their information.

It does say it's appropriate from birth upwards hun so should be ok. Jane Slaloms are v expensive though so maybe look on ebay x

i bought a second hand Jane for my ds (2nd child) it is amazing! wish i'd had it for my first. i push and steer it with one hand. it's excellent for off roading. there are downsides (as with ALL pushchairs!) it is bulky in th boot, the basket was only small.
personally i think it's a brilliant pushchair( i don't work for them honest! just love it)

Surely that is what OHs are for. I am planning on breast feeding so decided not to get any formula etc as we should be able to get it if we need it quickly.

I have however got a few bottles and a breast pump, purely because I won them.

When my DS1 was born it was only just coming into place that pushchairs had a lie-flat seat, there were very few choices and they were horrifically expensive, he will be 9 this year so not all that long ago !

When we were out for the first few months he was mainly in his car seat, didnt occur to me that they may not be the best for him

I've been low on 2/3 readings so far and the one in the middle was still close! The last midwife I saw said that she tells those with low blood pressure to make sure you are able to cool down easily as the baby is like a little heat generator, so your body tries to cool down by opening up your veins... and then your blood pressure drops even more. So layers of clothing which you can strip off, cold drink on hand, and eat salt (oh, and the get up slowly from sitting/lying down etc)

I've always been predisposed to low blood pressure.

I'm also A+
