Thanks for the warm welcome ladies :-)
Carnt quote who mentioned about having a supportive family,
So I apologise but yes I most certainly wouldn't have got though the
Last few months with out them,
Anyway on a positive note we have all our nuseary stuff bought on a very strick Mse budget all 2nd hand! It's amazing the bargains you can get at carboots nct sales & eBay!
Picked up a swinging crib for £15 at a nct sale the babies r us Winnie the pooh one!
Can I ask is their any one on here who is a carer for a family member, just I am for my father & unsure when to let the benefit people know,
I've had some amazingly werid cravings but the main one is twiglets & jam tarts at the same time!0 -
Right you lot! The winnie the pooh border is now up!! ... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151550971185574.844016.677345573&type=1
If no one can see this - either friend request me or I can imageshack it and stick to the thread0 -
vic - well done on all the bargains! I'm intending to go to boot sales at the end of the summer. I always see loads of baby clothes at our local ones, and anything that can be picked up cheap is a bonus
As for cravings, I've only had the same two for the whole time - McDonalds fries and fruit strudels with custard. I don't like them at the same time though, so not too strange!
Rebekah - I can see the nursery, the border looks great
Gemma - I haven't said hi before, but hope you're ok and that the funeral goes as well as can be expected.
jediquigley - I don't know about other's experiences, but for me if I hadn't agreed to a student midwife being present at my daughter's birth I would have had no one. The MW's were all too busy, and it was just the student who was able to give us any time/help. And she was actually far more pleasant and eager to please than the MW! (I'm not trying to say that you should agree to it, but I just wanted to give you a different perspective.)Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
Hello all,
Haven't done any reading back, but just wanted to say hello and congrats to any new mummies!
Also just to say, I had my little mini me on Friday 22nd.. I won't mention his name here as its a little unusual but I've posted details and a pic on the newborn facebook group.
He was born 22.6.12 10.08 am, 9lb 10.5 oz. After induction on Thu afternoon. Had to have a good few stitches... and lost 1.5litres of blood. Doc manually turned him as he was back to back. Didn't know this till after tho. No epidural. My first check I was 9cm as labour ward too busy to take me till 9am. And so was too late!
Have iron folic acid and vitamin c to take for 6 months as hemoglobins so low. Near blood transfusion apparently. Feeling tired and v sore but mini me doing good..
And i was an absolute nightmare.. i screamed the place down once i got to labour suite.. and I was not the sweetest to the doctor at oen point! And then they took the gas off me cos they said i was concentrating on that rather than pushing!EDD- AmyP1985 - 14th June 2012 ?

Congrats Kelda!
Missmonkeymoo I will be 37 weeks on Friday. I've been feeling a lot better today although still tired. The last two blood results came back as me being anaemic as well so I've started taking a multivitamin containing iron. I hope that's ok – the midwife said to go back on Pregnacare but I ran out and it's really expensive unless it's on offer. Is a cheaper substitute ok?
Bit annoying, my husband's work colleagues apparently are all convinced that baby will be 1–2 weeks late because he's my first! I don't really want to be a balloon for another 5–6 weeks or be induced. Isn't it annoying when people start telling you what they think will happen? It's like my husband's parents who 'knew' that baby would be a boy before I had the 20 week scan. And they ended up being right!
I've only had 2 days off work so far (holiday this week, maternity leave starts next week) and I'm already feeling like I don't know what to do with myself. I've done a bit of housework and sorting out a huge box of papers (bank statements, receipts, that sort of thing) but if I feel at a loss not being at work imagine how I'll be when I've been at home for months! Better not go crazyMy husband came home at 4pm today and I was so glad to see him, it was such a relief! Talk about needy ...

Congratulations to MrsBryan and Kelda!!
I've been looking at more prams today and my 'shortlist' is getting longer rather than shorter! I'm taking DH to have a look at the contestants on Friday/Saturday and hopefully we'll be able to make a decision then.
Question: I know newborns need to lie flat on pram but does it have to be 180 degrees flat or can it be almost flat (154 degrees)? I'm in love with this one: http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_131691_10001, just need to find out whether it's really suitable for newborns (it's not fully flat!) and find it cheaper elsewhere!:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0
