Is this your first? This is my first and I don't think it will ever be born. Perhaps that's just because I can't imagine actually owning a baby but also because first babies are often late and I've had no labour signs whatsoever, not even a single leaky boob

You know, talking of elective ways of getting your baby out (I was being facetious btw, I guess you mean a bit of sexy time )... there was a snippet on the radio an hour or so ago about the medical system in the US. Whilst the article wasn't about obstetric care per se, it did mention that elective inductions were really popular in the States.

Apparently, just because it's 'convenient' women were choosing to have an induction around 37 or 38 weeks. The implication was that there was no medical reason for these early inductions, simply that it fitted their diaries better!

Unsurprisingly studies found that these babies were more likely to have initial difficulties, nothing major that affected their overall health, but difficulties nonetheless, and now hospitals are realising that it's far better to induce only if there's a clear medical need.

Honestly! The yanks are nutters! Anyone watch that Maternity Ward programme on Really in the afternoons? Childbirth is so medicalised over there. All the women are flat on their backs, they all have epidurals, the babies are delivered by doctors not midwives, and 'natural labour' is seen as some wacky alternative that only the hippies go in for. Bizarre!

Oh my God, I could so come to yours and help you sort through it all lol. I think I have OCD, I have everything sorted into size order or all the bedding in drawers specific to what they are like blankets,sheets etc.

At least you've got everything though, so once the room is decorated you get to do the fun stuff and play with it all as you put it away lol.

I really struggled finding stickers that I liked that's why I ended up painting my own pictures. We've still stuck with our jungle/safari theme though and theres bits of wild animals all over lol.
