Thanks everyone for the reassurance! Not usually a worrier, must be hormonal, I am also crying randomly this week which is MOST unlike me! Saw a sad abandoned dog in the paper yesterday, well that was it, I was in bits!

Hi everyone! I'm pleased to let you know that our baby, a little boy called William, arrived at 2.54 am today :) 8lbs3oz. He's gorgeous.

Unfortunately had an emergency section followed by drama as I developed post delivery pre-eclampsia (never heard of it before!) Overall very traumatic and exhausting, not really up to posting birth story just yet but will at some point.

Thanks for all the good wishes :)

    BB x
congrats BB :) Ive posted on the fb thread too, but had to pop over to get the stats ;) hope you are recovering well xx

  • Morning all!
Feeling a lot better today :D slept for solid six hours, well a wee break or two but quickly back to sleep. Still sore but feel a lot more positive today.

Bellola big hugs hun. It's hard when theres not a lot of pregnancy understanding people about. We're here if you want to vent etc.

Facebook it'll be lovely to set up a new group. Although I don't know how to do it, or we could just use the existing newborn thread here on MSE? Although I love looking at photos on Facebook and what people look like in real life. Studentalso happy to add to Facebook :) am friends with Emsbet there And a few others.

Looks nice and sunny outside today, have a few jobs to do then I may top up my freckles this afternoon

Yeah... I was pondering this - why was a facebook group set up in preference to using the MSE thread? There must be pros and cons of either, any thoughts?

Hi again. We set up a facebook group as it is completely private. You can share real names, baby photos and other details of your personal life which I would not be willing to do on MSE. Don't forget, any details you write on these threads can be seen by anybody worldwide. If you make your facebook group private, then only accepted members can see the details on there. I would really recommend you ladies setting up a new group - it's a lovely way of supporting and sharing. Plus, if you ask a question, then replies stay on your question. Here, you have to trawl through pages to check if anybody has answered.

    I hope that helps xx
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Congrats BB, rakkibeth and museum worker! Slowly moving up the list now.

Had a rough night last night. Somehow yesterday I woke up with a stuffy nose and sore throat which got progressively worse. Fell asleep about 9 last night then the cat woke me up at 10ish. By that point I was boiling hot and struggling to breathe, queue major tears which I think kind of ended in a mini panic attack. Had to go outside to cool down and calm myself down. I was having one of those days where I want my body back and hate not being in control of what's happening to you!

Plus I'm struggling at the mo as I don't really have anyone to talk to, work colleagues haven't a clue about pregnancy, I'm the first of all my friends and siblings to have a baby, hubby hasn't a clue. And I miss my mum! She's living in France doing up their house and isn't back until August bank holiday. But I feel like I really need her at the mo. Don't want to call/text and stress her out as she will feel bad.

This was me with my first baby, I was the only one of all my work collegues/friends BUT my husbands aunt was due 2 days before me so it was all "well xxxx hasnt put on any weight and you are huge, xxxx hasnt had any morning sickness and you've had loads" drove me bonkers, especially when she went into labour on her due date and I went over by the full 10 days !

To be honest i think you may be better NOT having anyone who has been through it to share stuff with as every pregnancy and woman are different. Even from reading this thread there is a vast difference between some of us, I've found it a god-send for support though so hopefully you can do the same :)

    AFM,

I have my next scan next friday :j so nervous, really hope the next week and a half goes quickly

I am also HUGE ! and keep getting the "oooh any day now " comments from random strangers who feel the need to make me feel crap :T Will try and get a picture on later for you all to laugh at :D

oh god this list is flying!!!

so jealous of the mummies who have their little ones...
  • Aaaah, congrats BB, Museumworker and rakkibeth! I am feeling jealous of your mummy cuddles!

Kitten sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit down at the moment, hope things pick up for you soon hun.

moneypuddle I can sympathise, as a Project Manager stress is part and parcel of my job and I got into a very bad way some years ago because I didn't have the right support around me. I think having been so low with stress and deperession now means I have a bit of a different view on things and I cope with it a lot better - that's not to say that I still don't get stressed though!

lmm hugs to you hun - sorry to hear you're not too good.

bellola I struggle to get comfy of an evening too and have had rubbish sleep for a while now. It's horrible isn't it? I think the frustration of not really being able to do anything about it added to the fact that your shattered really brings you to that low point. So lots of hugs being sent your way!

Back at work tody after my GTT at the hospital yesterday; the glucose drink wasn't all that bad and I took stuff to read with me so managed to keep myself occupied for two hours which was good as I thought I would get really bored! Tried not to people watch too much, but there were several couples who just seemed to draw attention to themselves! Felt sorry for one girl in particular - it was obvious that her other half just didn't want to be there and he had a right attitude towards her as well. I know you don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but couldn't help but feel that he was def in control of that relationship!

Went to OH's Dad's on Sat as it was his birthday and there was a party in full swing. His family are lovely and kept asking questions about the baby; OH's great aunt is getting married at end of AUgust though and was asking if we'll be at the wedding. I said I would have to wait and see as it's only 2 weeks before I am due and then had several people descending on me saying that we had to go! Ordinarily, i would love to, but I can't help but think that by then I am going to be a) even bigger b) exhausted c) uncomfortable and that sitting through a reception, then photos, then a sit down meal and then maybe the evenong reception may all be just a bit too much! Added to that is I would have to buy an outfit and I really don't want to spend a lot of money on something that I will only get to wear once!

Bump hasn't been kicking as strongly but does like to wriggle around a lot. Starting to get very 'hard' areas now where an elbow or a foot sticks out! Can't believe that I have only got 12 weeks left!
