missbunbury wrote: »Hi again everyone, wondering whether anyone can set my mind at rest this evening? I'm seeing my midwife on Wednesday and am sure there's no need to trouble her before then, just looking for reassurance really!
I'm nearly seventeen weeks right now, and have not put on a single pound in weight yet - does this seem normal to you lot? I've never been one to weigh myself but when I found out at six weeks I was expecting, I went out and bought a set of scales and weighed eight stone six that day. Haven't bothered since, and expected I would have gained a bit cos my trousers are tighter, but weighed today and am still exactly the same weight! Can't help wondering is this ok? Twelve week scan was fine, haven't seen any medical types since, feeling well and my tummy feels a little bit..harder...every day so I am hoping all is well. Any thoughts?
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about hun, it's possible you lost a little bit of weight at the beginning and the baby is recompensing for that. I would just mention it to your midwife at your appointment. xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Hello!
Just a quickie from me... Our little Oscar was born last Tuesday 12/06/12 at 7.59am at 6lbs9oz and 36+2... C-sect due to placental abruption but were home now and little one is doing very well.
So for all of you ladies who are being warned to slow down, Please SLOW DOWN!! Luckily it was caught early and we were taken straight in.
Being a mummy is fantastic, but be warned the first night is a bit of a shock... But now we're much more settled and little one is doing well.
Congratulations to the other new mummies out there ( and Daddies ww2b!) and take care of yourselves and your bumps, they are just to precious to not take it easy.
Much love xx0 -
Missbunbury - I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm just over 22 weeks and have only put about 8lbs so far. I've been lucky that I haven't been sick at all so definitely not that. The bump only really started developing a few weeks ago and even now, some people still can't tell I'm pregnant. I've read we're supposed to gain 1lb every week but we all gain weight at different rates so try not to compare to others. I was worried at some point too until I noticed that we all varied so much in how much we put on! Your scan will tell you if there are any problems but not putting any weight on isn't necessarily a bad sign.
(edit: I took so long to type that ikkle already replied!)
I'm starting to feel uncomfortable at times, just feeling the belly tight and sometimes can't settle when lying down/sitting in certain positions. It's not too bad but I'll definitely be glad to finish work. Is anyone here temping? I've a few more weeks to go but I just can't wait!!
Congrats rakkibeth and all the others who are probably too busy having cuddles now:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
Have to apologise for some queue jumping...we had a baby boy this morning at 2.58, weighing in at 7lb 9oz. A quick delivery - labour pains started at just gone midnight, by the time triage examined me at about 145 I was 9 cm dilated (with no pain relief, I was in quite a lot of pain as you can imagine!). Got a room with a birthing pool, and -thank god - some gas and air - but by the time baby was delivered pool was only 1/4 full! Fantastic midwife really helped me with positions and when to push. He is absolutely gorgeous, DD is over the moon with her new baby brother. Name tbc.
Back home now, only slight worry is that he has sicked up green and yellow vomit, they said he had slight jaundice but let him go after blood tests so I assume I will just mention it to the health visitor tomorrow. Completely exhausted now!
Congrats to bb, ww2br, rakkibeth and anyone else I've missed. Must squeeze some sleep in before the next feed!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

rakkibeth - congrats! Glad you're doing well and little Oscar is settling in well at home. Can you tell us some more about the placental abruption so we know what symptoms to watch out for?
missbunbury - I was also worried that I am not gaining weight. Mentioned it to my MW and she said not to worry. She said they stopped weighing people as weight gain/loss does not mean anything. I was weighed once at my first appointment and haven't been weighed since.0 -
Congratulations Rakkibeth and Museumworker, wow a lot of births this last few days

Congrats Rakkibeth and Museumworker!
Our pram is all set up now. It was quite straightforward - we got the Graco Evo from Mothercare and one of the reasons I liked it was because it was simple to operate. I love it and can't wait to have a little man to push around in it.0 -
i!!!!!!!!!!! wrote: »hi everyone, can i join yous - i know its a little late in the day as i am 31w 5days now - we lost our wee girl at 27 weeks last july so have been a little reluctant to look forward to the arrival of this little monster - however its getting a bit close now and i really need to get my finger out and get things organised
we are def team blue this time and all is going great this time. there are just so many choices to make about everything there is to buy - i wish someone would sell a bundle of everything you need to get started
i cant even decide what i need to sort for my hosp bag never mind the days after
hope everyone is having an easy time of it or as easy as the glamerous state of pregnancy allows
Hi I luv! I remember you from TTC thread too, but didn't realise that you'd had the loss quite so late, glad you are on the way now. And thanks for being added to the list, I was worried I'd gotten to 38 but now back to number 39!
Congratulations to rakkibeth, BB and Sally! All lovely names, will we get to see pics?
ferrety, I could have written your post today, 31 weeks wednesday and so uncomfortable! I'm woth quite a small bump so thinking there isn't much room but also keep feeling really dizzy and overheated at times. jedi, I am working in my temporary job until 38 weeks cus of money and hoping that this uncomfortable feeling doesn't last too long!!
so... 9 weeks wednesday until baby is supposed to come, our nursery furniture should come next week, I am teaching for 4 more weeks and in work for 7 more... things are scary now they are in single figures, I am so unprepared for this...! doesn't help that i keep having meetings about my new job which is starting 10 weeks after baby comes, 1 day a week, if all has gone well with birth but with all these c sections and everything, i dont know what will happen...
on the plus side, my pregnancy yoga teacher said tonight I was carrying it well, and asked how long i had to go as I don't look big.. hmm.
shame we can't join that facebook, I was looking forward to joining and seeing the elusive emsbet, kittenpie, happydays and many more!
big (((hugs))) to all
EDIT: Congratulations museumworker!!
