Rebekah have fun painting, if I could get OH to move all the stuff away from the walls I could get going on ours. What colour have you chosen?
Ah made him empty the room last weekend! It's all empty now. Little lady has a winnie the pooh theme. So half will be lilac and half lemon with a border across the middle :D

RJH- I had this with DD @ 32 weeks, it was my waters leaking, all was OK just needed steroid injections (ouchy) and lots of extra monitoring. When in hospital getting it checked they had a look down there and made me cough to see if this produced anything- it did. Please ring your delivery suite, I'm sure its nothing as you do increase discharge amounts, but just give them a ring and explain where/ when/ how it happens so they are aware. Not trying to scare you, just wanted to put in my thoughts.

Hope everyone else is good, havent really read back and been mega busy. Only 3 weeks left at work then will be back on more. Nan still very poorly, hospital are getting a care package ready for her to go home as there isn;t anything else they can do for her, i think she will need multiple daily visits, but will be much happier at home so hopefully she may be around to see bubba.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, how did i get to 34??????

    Afternoon all!

Not much going on today, hope everyone is having a nice busy Saturday! Weather doesnt know what its doing here, sunny one minute grey the next!
OH just got in from work, he's done a 70 hour week this week (eek!) so has gone to bed for a bit until we have go out later!

Was just wondering how much weight you all have put on?
From when I got weighed at my booking appointment at 8 weeks, until I got weighed at midwife the other day (38+3) according to the scales at the midwife I've put on 8kg.....there's 2.2lb to a kg according to google which means
I've put on about 17lb? But when I've weighed myself at home (in stones) I've put on about 2 stone (28lb)!
I'm a bit confused. I don't feel I have put on loads, but thought 2 stone sounded about right. Most of my weight is on my bump, I'm all front, apart bit on my legs and face too!

Would think the midwifes scales are more accurate than my weight watchers digital ones!
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference :)

Wow! My midwife's never weighed me - but I was 14st before getting pregnant, weighed myself about 2 months ago and I was 16st - haven't done it since as I'm not really that bothered, but I know it's mostly bump.

She said its incase I need an epidural or general anesthetic, they need to know how much you weigh to see how much to give to you for it to be effective? Only been weighed the twice though, first time was to see how much my BMI worked out.
I think 2 stone is the average, and tbh, I'm not too bothered either! You just hear some people say, "Ooooh I put on 5 stone with my baby," and I think jeeeez......

How you doing anyway choclover? Bet you are well and truly fed up now!! Come on baby! x

My consultant said he'd like me to put on between 2 and 3 stone by the end.

Mrs Bryan - given WW's focus on every pound, it wouldn't surprise me if their scales were more accurate than some old NHS ones! Although that's quite a significant difference!...

I think weight gain is bound to vary a lot from person to person. I put on 3.5 stone  and when I weighed myself four days after giving birth, I'd lost 2 stone of that. So my weight gain was 2 stone baby, water, placenta and the like - and 1.5 stone was chocolate, ice cream and other unhealthy stuff (plus, I like to think, my boobs!) :o One month later I've lost a further 5 pounds through no effort whatsoever - newborn babies don't give you much time to eat, and if you breastfeed you'll lose the weight even quicker. I'm also starting a couple of mum and baby exercise classes in a few weeks' time - I figured it would be a good way too meet other new mums too.

I'm intrigued by the point about the epidural - I had one, and no one weighed me and/or asked me about my weight?.... Probably yet another example of how hospitals do things differently....
  • Rebekah we're going for the whole Winnie the Pooh theme to (I know we're both after the same furniture from Babies R Us!) Have you seen the WTP wall stickers on amazon? Think we are going to get some of those and make a feature of one of the main walls.

Re weight, my midwife hasn't weighed me since me booking in and I am quite happy about that! I know it's silly, but I would obsess over it so I would rather not know how much I have put on! I haven't weighed myself for years cos I used to weight myself all the time when I was an overweight teenager and it just got me all negative. I'll just go by how my clothes fit after baby's born - and even then I'll be in no rush to lose it!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Wow this is interesting! How and when did you get into that? Bet that costs a lot

Well i have allways had lots of pets as a child (dad saw to that) and as i got older friends would pass on small furrys that they didnt want anymore. Now we rescue ferrets, im 3rd gen of the family to own them as dad and grampy used them for working animals yrs ago.
I have been doing this for 5yrs and yes it does cost a fair bit but we do regain some of the cost when re homing but we do neuter all of them before they go and pay for any vet bills and lots of food ect too. I share this with dad and oh is very good at helping out too. I work pt and dad and oh work mon - fri so between us we get everything done

I also have a cat, 2 tortoise, 2 beardies and 3 rabbits and of course all the birds that visit the garden for various different foods each day.

Oh and i didnt mean to offend anyone I know that sometimes re homing is the only option and i have had some very upset owners (usually 6ft plus men in tears)having to give up their ferrets over the yrs but i must say alot of the time it is excuses to get rid of the pets that were never really loved.

I was worried about my cat too as he is old and not well but he seems to be very attached to me and will get lots of fuss when baby comes, im just not sure how i will explain to him that the moses basket is out of bounds.

well now i have bored everyone with me, How is everyone else? Had a good day i hope even if you are stuck indoors with grotty weather :)
