Thanks honey, he seemed to think the cardiologist might put me on beta blockers but said he's fine with that if that happens. He thinks it's just extra strain on the body which is what I've been saying all along. :)

Just a quick update, nothing much to report I'm afraid!

Had a nap for a couple of hours this avo, which was nice and I'm feeling pretty good now. Contractions have tailed right off though, annoyingly. Just got back from a walk with DH, to try and get things going,.had a few contractions whilst we were out. Not painful, and in fact feel less intense than the ones I've had the past few days, I'm not feeling as much pressure down below.

Back to bouncing on my ball now! :)

BB - glad to hear waters broke naturally, hope things speed up for you. i have visions of this happening to me at work eeekk! i have actually thought about taking a change of clothes in incase it does lol

Rebekah - thanks for the info on SPD, the past week i have started to get bumb pain and have struggled to put knickers, trousers on balancing on one foot, so might be the start of for me. hopefully wont get too much worse before baby comes

ww2b - yay for baby now here and thanks for the updates

re supplements holland and barrets is actually really cheap for supplements i pay £18 for my preg multivit (has really good but safe high levels of loads of vits and mins) thats with 30% off as well.
i was precribed iron from my GP but i couldnt tolderate it - make me feel sick and gave me stomach pain. so i researched one from a company called biocare which is iron phosphate a different form of iron which is less harsh on the digestive system. i am taking them now and feel the tiredness has improved a lot :)

only a month left at work, anyone else working till 2 weeks before due date? i am hoping i can manage this. work are really supportive though and i can go and lay down when i want. i am really up to date with my work at the moment which feels good. have a hand over with the lady who is covering me for mat leave on tuesday.

i am off out for a meal with a friend,

    Laura

WW2B - congratulations to you, Mrs WW2B and the baby! Well done!

BB - hope all goes well for you and you'll soon have lots of baby cuddles!

jediquigley - I stopped working at 36wks but one of my work colleagues worked until she was 38 (and her baby came at 39 so she only had a week off ).

Well, that's me finished work! The next two weeks I'm off on annual leave and then in July my maternity leave kicks in. It's too surreal to believe - it will be weird on Monday being able to stay at home and waste my day on MSE and FB :D Since I left work baby has been going mental kicking and stretching non stop. Do you think it knows it's getting long lie ins from tomorrow?

Had my 36+1 MW appointment today. Baby still head down but is now almost back to back (it was "the proper way round" when I had my scan last week ). Also, the baby was 1/5 engaged last week but isn't any more.

Asked my MW about my back/butt/leg pains and she said it does sound like sciatica and that there's nothing really I can do about it. She advised me to walk less so I'm glad I don't need to go out any more.

Labour vibes to all who want them!

Told my hubby he'd fall asleep watching the England game, he said he wouldn't. Well now I have a snoring dog on my feet and a snoring hubby more or less on my shoulder. He shoved the remote control down his pants so I can't turn over though. Ha ha.

Congratulations to ww2br and your wife on the birth of your little boy. Hope the feeding becomes easier soon.

Fingers crossed that things progress for you BB and choclover and to any other boldies.

Pleased to hear all went well with the consultant twinklie - do you think OH's placing of the remote was a deliberate ploy to get you to put your hand down there? ;)

Popped into my agency after work today to deliver my timesheets and see them in person - one of the ladies has been dying to see my bump! lol They asked me when I may go on maternity leave (I'm technically employed by an umbrella company, so haven't had to send the agency my MATB1 form - I checked in case). I told them that unless there was a rule that I couldn't work up until my due date on the form (28th September - my original due date in my maternity file), and as long as I was feeling physically able to, that I'd like to work right up until this date. Of course, if the baby is born earlier than this, my maternity leave will start then. They were fine with this, and said that there's no rules saying I can't work (some places won't insure you in your last couple of weeks), so I'm hoping that the majority of my leave will be taken after Bean is born rather than taking much beforehand as it will also be nice to have a bit of income coming in for as long as possible. Normally the first few weeks of term are quiet for supply anyway, so don't expect I'll be that busy anyway.

In other good news, the omeprazole is definitely working - yesterday I didn't take any Gaviscon at all, and didn't get any heartburn last night either (not even in the middle of the night). I didn't bother carting the bottle into work today, and worried this may tempt fate, but again, I've got no heartburn.:jJust waiting for some chocolate profiteroles to defrost for our dessert. smiley-eatdrink026.gif It's so nice to be able to eat and drink again without worrying about the consequences!

Thanks for the tip about the phsyio Elelyn - my back is hurting again today (it seems to be worse if I've driven as I think I may be slightly twisting in my seat and also when I try to lie on my side in bed), although not as badly as yesterday. My midwife appointment is on 29th June, which isn't too far away, so hopefully as it's a different midwife, she may be more sympathetic and get me referred then.

Well hugs and labour vibes for those who want them.

    Hmmm .. update from me

I'm 24 weeks and a day today, and a bit emotional. I seem to swing between being so excited, and then being incredibly nervous - not just about having a baby to look after but about the fact that my life is going to change so much, and wondering how I'll cope with it. I've worked in the same incredibly busy advertising agency for the last 5 years, and that's all going to change. I'm not sure I'm ready to slow down.

I'd posted a little while ago about not being sure about what happens with my holiday etc that I have remianing. I got my boss to agree today to pay me for 2 days per month for my first 5 months of maternity to top my pay up a bit. She's going to say I came in for the Keep it Touch days but has said I dont actually have to come in, and she will pay me for them anyway. Plus she's going to give me another 5 or 6 days worth of pay on top, in the first month so that will help a little to ease the strain of a HUGE paydrop each month!

OH's company made big profits this year and have treated all employees to a £250 bonus at the end of June which will be nice.

But *sigh* ... I think i might have overspent. We wanted £6k in savings before the baby gets here. We've got just over £4k at the minute but HAVE got all our major purchases. Ive got pay dates at the end of June, July, August and September before the baby comes (plus October will be at usual pay rate really anyway, with my bonus), so we need to be putting away £500/month for each of those into savings to be able to do it. Thats fine and do-able but I have to stop spending too.

I'm also disappointed because my NCT classes have been cancelled due to poor attendance - and I've been shifted onto another shorter course but the dates are in september and my baby is due Oct 4th so it all feels a little late :-( Nothing seems to be going right.

But I will get there, and will have my beautiful baby boy here is hopefully 111 days :)

Well done and congratulations to all who have given birth - can't wait to join the mummmy club every time I hear about someone else having their little one :)
