i know that bloods are def repeated at 28 weeks to check iron levels before the birth. I have mine a week monday and im binging on red meat, greens, and the occasional nip of guinness to ensure my levels are good enough for my home birth.0

My baby is due 4th October, and at the minute the plan is to work until 28th Sep. My holiday runs Jan-Dec, and by 28th Sep I think I will have around 10 days holiday left. Can I take these 10 days from 28th Sep onwards and THEN start maternity leave mid October even though the baby may be born during the 'holiday' rather than during the maternity leave. Is that clear?!? #BabyBrain
There is a cut off for when you have to start your mat leave (I think it's a week before your EDD, someone might know exactly) so you would have had to take leave prior to then. Or you MIT be able to get your employer to roll it over for you and tag it on the end

Is it wrong that I'm excited by the fact that my boobs have started leaking?

Had midwife appointment today, unfortunately she was unable to do a sweep, she'll try again next week - I'm hoping I won't last that long and I think hubby is too as he's due to go back to work on Monday!
OOooh thanks to whoever raised the subject, you've reminded me I need to query the amount of smp i'm getting - 124.49 against 131.32 I think I should be getting based on 90% of my weekly pay of 145.92£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013
DF by Xmas 2013 #027£841.28/£6000 (14.02%) 12/2

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the guidance says the latest you can start your maternity leave is the day after the baby is born? If I'm writing my notice of maternity leave, and my due date is Sunday 23rd September, can I put this as the date I want to start my maternity leave from?Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Soooo .. if you have a few holiday days left when you do on maternity leave, what happens with them if your boss isn't happy to let them roll over? Can you be paid for them?0

I don't think you can let them roll over - I think you are allowed to take the annual leave before your due date, but if you gave birth during that time, your maternity pay would automatically start the day after you've given birth, so you'd effectively lose the holiday that you'd booked after this time. I'm not an expert though, so it may be worth giving the job centre a call about it. I don't get annual leave with my job as I'm an agency supply teacher, so I'm just going by what I've read in my trawl through the internet to find out the latest you can start maternity leave as I'll have to write my letter tomorrow.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
