  • My hospital are terrible for trying to keep you at home, they will try sending you back home again if you're less than 5cms! Wont even consider letting you come in if you're having less than 4 contractions per 10 mins and practically make you beg for pain relief.
Maybe budget cuts have hit the maternity unit pretty hard.

    Good luck Gilly :) xx

Had a rubbish nights sleep, have trapped a nerve in my left hip so cant put any pressure on it :( Taking DD3 to nursery was fun this morning :/ Would love to go for a nap righ now, but have managed almost 36 weeks without a single day time nap so dont really wanna start now! Might take some painkillers and go to the shop for doughnuts, cakes, chocolate and pineapple!!!!!!!!! xx

When I went into labour with my first, I was having contractions quite regular and so on the advise they gave at antenatal we decided to go to hospital, after we were there for an hour they said I was only 1cm and that as they didn't have spare rooms I'd either have to go home or I could go on a regular ward (which I didn't want to do). We went home and after two hours of being at home decided enough was enough and that we'd have to back to hospital. Just as we were leaving my waters broke and when we arrived at the hospital 40 mins later I could feel the pressure of the babys head on my cervix. Ruby was born 14 mins later! The midwife I saw the second time asked why we were turned away the first time and was quite surprised when we told her! That was stoke mandeville hospital, but now we've moved so not sure what our local hospital is like and now I know how quick it can happen there's no way I'm going to be turned away again!
