CY that would annoy me with the teacher, I'm sure the board is funky especially if you would have it on display! Perhaps a mention at parents evening or a word now with the teachers about manners and encouragement!

CY as annoying and rude as the teacher is being for now the focus has to be on coursework being as good as possible for submission date. Do you know that date? Have you looked at the spec on the exam board as to exactly what is required for the cw? It there a reason for not using the board ie the exam board do not allow it? I can hear your anger in your post and know how hard DD has worked. Can you used printed pictures or do they have to be more like photos ie on photographic paper and that sort of ink? I know it is really frustrating and an emotional time (remember I'm living with A2 coursework too!), I'm just trying to help you give DD the best chance from here.

Trying to order flea/worm stuff but pc crashed so I'll try once more.

Sadly DD2's photography teacher has pretty much trashed her coursework. I have no objective to constructive criticism but to say 'this will get you no marks - why have you stuck it on this board - this does nothing for me' is pushing the boundaries on manners if nothing else!

She also tried to pull the pictures off the board - which really annoys me - I paid for that board and I like the final result - I would be happy to frame it and display it on my wall!

And she criticised the printing and told DD2 - 'you better go to Boots it'll only cost you £10-£20!' But the final picture was printed on the school printer - now why isn't their printer good enough?

:eek: I'm sorry but I'd be going in and giving a piece of my mind
  • I don't think there is a date - 1 person in the group has handed in nothing so far! We have had more dates than George Clooney - at the moment it's a case of set your own date!

What I object to is not the fact that there is a problem with it it's the teacher's attitude. This is a teacher who said to one of DD2's mates before Christmas ' No offence but when you open your mouth you do my head in!'

And the issue with the printer rankles - this is the first group to do the A Level - the phrase blind leading the blind comes to mind....

Of course I want her to do well - I have told her to talk to the other teacher.....

And regards advice - this time I think they have handed out too much - we got practically a sheet every couple of weeks last term on marking schemes! I appreciate that this is an art & design course ( not that DD2 was appraised of this before she started) and that DD2 is at a disadvantage with not having an art background...

DD2 thinks we should be able to get the pictures done at Boots, but it will cost - they are all different sizes and have been photoshopped.....

As regards the board there is nothing in the specification about how you present your final piece - it has been suggested that an art dept bod cuts holes in the board and DD2 mounts them behind the board or that 3D white mounts are stuck on the front of the board..

And the last time DD2 saw the piece it had been put in a frame (as if to go on display) - so if it's that bad why are they framing it???????????????

We've already had parents evening - but I may e-mail the teacher she likes on Monday.....

I don't have a problem with constructive criticism - DD2 redid her coursework last time about 3 times.... but to effectively say 'it's rubbish' is a bit cruel. She also told the same to a mate of DD2's (and she is doing A Level Art) so it's not just DD2!

Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes :) I have had a lazy day, not allowed to do any flying. We went out for lunch with friends and are going to the local pub tonight. I have blown the diet for this week.

I eventually sorted the bubbling dishwasher. I had to put it on four times and eventually put a bar of soap in which 'killed' the bubbles. I was worried the men would come home and find out. I was already concerned because I called the TV repair people out and it wasn't turned on!! I was seriously having a brain dead day.

cycling the teacher sounds down right rude to me. The type who puts people down because he/she is lacking in confidence.
