Does chewy like the trews so much he thinks they are bedroom wear?0

I find it fascinating that forum. Some parts of it i really like. Others are amazingly shocking.
I am convinced from that forum that parents are not the superior breed they believe them selves to be (my children come first but, or i would do anything for my children but..) and that people can consider things in any way they like from one side....and most people believe them. It is sometimes like a stocks and rotten veg show.0 -

ha ha! i wouldn't be seen dead within a mile of them. also, oh is 5ft nothing, and i think you probably need to be a fair bit taller than that to make something like that work!0 -

i do think a lot of it is wind-up.
there are so many threads about "husband accidently leaving facebook/email logged in and me finding filthy pictures from another woman, but i still love him" that they can't all be real.
there are also a goodly number of "school says i cannot give my child a 1kg bag of sugar instead of a packed lunch, i am disgusted!!"0 -

Yep, they can. They also drive cars, hold down jobs etc. sometimes when you talk to people you think are quite happy and sensible you realise their bondaries are just not oly differentto one's own, but depressing. After all, who buys the amounts of sugary crud aimed at kids that are sold in supermarkets? The majority if the population. And in quantities per head that must mean something akin to smartie snadwiches are not so odd.....thoguh in many cases i think the parents think the food is healthy...yogurts etc for kids, for example....i have no idea what is in those but lots of them have candy in don't they?0 -

I was pilloried on that board for suggesting that a chocolate with every meal does not actually constitute part of a balanced diet. Yet because it's 'normal' people couldn't tell me enough that I was wrong. But 'normal' is overweight now and no one understands what moderation really means.
I see what degree educated friends feed their children and it shocks me, yet the same people don't understand why their kids are chunky or won't eat proper food when they're constantly raiding the snack cupboard. We don't have a snack cupboard in this house.
I try to make sweets a treat, not a right, but they're given sweets and chocolate all the time by the grandparents etc. and sweets just get bigger and bigger. The in laws think nothing of giving them a 125g bar of Aero each. DS's favourite chocolate is a Snickers Duo. He complained when I once bought him a regular bar. He calls it a 'small one' and DD thinks that an entire Chocolate Orange is fine to eat in one sitting. There's barely a day that DD doesn't have a packet of Haribos in her book bag because it's someone's birthday.
The only way I can possibly keep their intake moderate is by personally not buying sweets and crisps for them at all!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
