N'ah.....he barely had time to wipe his feet at the door when i relaised my mistake. He is at agricultural college now, But i doubt he'll make a good farmer. Its not about the animals for him, whatever his mum thinks, its about how much he can make for least input...his rich uncle is gonna buy him a farm and he wants to rear rarebreed sheep and chickens.
I strongly encourage youth enterprise and mistakes i was once that kid, but i do not support laziness or welfare issues...not nice for me or my animals to be around either.
I also sometimes milk some cows. Keeps me in milk for dh.0 -
Thanks for the advice. That is why I have hesitated about getting them, as I would want to give them the best life possible. It must be amazing to have all those animals. The only experience I have of sheep is on a holiday on the Isle of Skye when we thought how quaint it was to have sheep in our garden. It was only on the last night when a shepherd turned up with a dog and said they shouldn't have been there. We helped him to get them into a nearby field.0

It is amazing. I love thiem a lot. but...it is also a very great tie. I have always had animals, my whole life, and so they have become important to me like other people see siblings....but they are also dependant. A bit like having a toddler who remains a toddler their whole life.. Never able to make you a cuppa or fix them selves breakfast, always needing napoy changing. Unlike a toddler, most animals are less portable...so you cannot even get out for a few days very easily.
I love them, i would not be without some animals...but in all honesty this life is not for everyone. I am very lucky dh loves them even more than i do, he fails to see their down sides often, whochi find frustrating as i have to beg him not to get some thing else.0 -
I only ever eat with the fork in my left hand and my knife in my right hand, eldest eats with the fork in the right hand.
I remember at school once in cookery, we had to make a 3 course meal which included setting the table. I set it as I had always had my cutlery to which my teacher marked me down for incorrectly setting the table....her view was that with me being left handed, the correct setting was the fork on the right, first I had ever heard of it!
In the ensuing 'discussion', I think I got my point across (admittedly, quite forcefully)....I was no longer marked down.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
