Hi CK, I thought you'd be busy with Eurovision. I've been reading up about all the singers and can't wait to see the semi finals. Sigh #imsadandiknowit

we have a eurovision party planned for this year.

Finished at the Great Escape now, I have sensory overload and will be sleeping for a day or two....

    Cute doggie :)

Reminded me of the winner of BGT

will we be seeing wheezy + westie on britain's got talent next year?

    cowell: what does he do?

wheezy: well, he'll walk over there, smell a couple of twigs, look back at me, look over there, look a bit confused, and then walk over there and sniff a bit of dirt.

    cowell: what do you do?

wheezy: stand here and video it.

i reckon that would guarantee a berth in the semi finals at least.

I have just heard that Ashleigh and Pudsey have won BGT. A girl and her dog, but I'm not sure which one is Pudsey?

I've never seen them. Are they any good? Is it some sort of comedy routine?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

ashleigh is a 14 year old or something who spends all of her spare time with her dog pudsey. pudsey looks like a cross between an ewok and a yorkshire terrier. they "dance" together on stage. pudsey can walk on two paws and jump up in the air a bit.

it is entertaining for about 12 seconds. much like all the other novelty acts they have on that show, there is no possible longevity in it*, although she's won £500k so she can afford a 2 bedroom flat in london now, so that will be nice.

    * = having said that susan boyle is still around, singing nothing but identically arranged cover versions which are just slightly worse than the original. i've no idea why people pay money to hear slightly worse versions of old songs, but they do.

To be honest I didn't have them in my top 3. I expect wheezy had them on speed dial ;)

It was funny to see the 14 year old girl and the 16 & 17 year old opera singers, all look like giants, standing next to Ant n Dec :D

I've been watching the vids for the semis. From the first semi I like Iceland and Hungary, Cyprus for the archetypal Eurodance track. I also think Ireland will make it through for obvious reasons, can't stand them but its slick and well produced.

From the second semi final I like the Eurodance tracks from Ukraine, who always seem to put a lot of effort into the contest, and Sweden. Bulgaria is a clever song, I didn't realise it was in lots of languages until she said I love you in Greek. The Croatia song is pretty as is the Bosnian one. I think the second semi is a bit tougher than the first.

The Azerbaijan song is by far the best of the auto qualifiers, though Germany's quite nice too. I think Azerbaijan may be my favourite.

There aren't that many marmite songs this year, they are getting a bit too good. Looks like we have to rely on the Russian grannies for the novelty vote, though I'm not convinced even they are as old as Englebert Humperdink.

No.... I had never seen them before I 'youtubed' them yesterday night. We're not that much into BGT/voice/x-factor kind of shows.
Didn't like the act anyway. I don't like it when dogs are being 'humanized', conditioned and trained to perform dance routines. Let a doggy be a doggy. :)
