WE do similar except normally we can't find appropriate battery for the bathroom scales so the wii fit gets an airing...other than that it is not often usedI should get one of those because our luggage weighing ritual is as follows:
- Digital Salter scales display "error" when putting just suitcase on it.
- Wheezy steps on scales and remembers his weight.
- Wheezy steps on scales with suitcase.
- Substraction leads to approximate suitcase weight.
- Wheezy gets told off for being too fat.I think....0 -

Airline workers at work with computers, while traveeler arriving at horrid stanstead (i think, i might remember that incorrectly) after all transport gone, arriving several hours late wondering how the dickens one gets where one needs to, wich only scraps of paper to scribble numbers on.
I don't know how long ago it was. Too long i think.0 -
As I've never been abroad, I've never had to worry about the weight of luggage.... limited to the size of the car and how much I can be bothered to carry out to it (which isn't a lot).... but then I also don't go away anywhere either, so it's rare I am even packing a case (except to move from sofa to sofa).
Having sorted out my clothes last week, ALL my clothes fit into one suitcase, that I can carry quite easily - and without using any squidgy bags. I do have a further 1 box of squidged clothes that will go into storage for up to 2 years now.... just stuff you hold onto "in case" really. One example of this is an £8 fleecy jacket I bought about 10-12 years ago, but it's probably got a use in a setting ... er, walking on a beach when it's warm but October maybe.... and it's got a tiny fag burn (not mine) ... but nobody's looking and so I'll hold onto it "in case" I want it.0 -
Quilt covers are a big problem. All my quilt covers were nice (all cheap ones of course) and still "good as new", but very dated (mid to late 1980s) when I binned them all in 2007, except my beloved animal prints
I then bought two new quilt covers..... and then stumbled across two more bargain ones in nice colours.... I've also got another 3 I've bought that I don't like, so now I've got TEN bl00dy quilt cover sets. All nice, all good. I'll be binning one, giving two (in packets) to the charity shop and keeping seven.0 -
I've got these cases...
http://www.tripp.co.uk
The reason I got medium size was that they are pretty much at the limit when full, so why get bigger.
Very light and easy to handle but the (plastic) zips aren't the best. I've popped them when trying to close the case and was scared they may not last the flight. They didn't pop on the flight but I've got straps for them now just in case.
The old (Carlton) plastic cases were too heavy (for these days) and not so easy to handle only having the wheels on the edge.0 -

Oh dear. Sounds bothersome for you. Glad to know you're still OK though.
I am tired and my brain is a blank, so I've no idea what the last 40 pages about. I'll have to hope that somebody else tells you, and that will remind me.Brallaqueen wrote: »Sorry to hear thatI hope it all turns out well for you.

LIR bad news about your parent's house, is the sale in any way salvageable?
I'm with zagubov, in this climate eating out has been the first to go in order to save money (still battling with spontaneous shopping though) - but take aways don't seem to have been affected.
I do enjoy reading about other people's jobs & lives, its very exciting and informative
I suspect that I'm quite like PN, in that eating out for me is rare as rocking horse do-do. I usually limit myself to 1 takeaway a week - though as well as financial that is partly healthy eating related, as I start to feel terrible if I persistently eat junk food.
Restaurants tends to be by invitation, special occasions, or I'm on holiday! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
How do no book flights? I tend to go easyjet because its simple on the websitebut have acknowledged i need to start travelling better if i travel again, and expect to walk at the other end.
And buy really good flight socks.
To be able to search by four or five star ranked airlines would be very good,0
