You know what I meant ... it's the vernacular sold. Somebody's offered, we've accepted... waiting for something to happen.... vernacular sold, not actual sold.

Ah, so it's like when the first someone hears that their engagement is over is when they find their fiance has changed their status to single on Facebook.

    Never heard of Laffas.

I've made my own pizzas before, but for the amount of times I actually want one -v- the time/effort I've tended to just pick up a £2 ready made one at a supermarket :) I tend to like the sort of toppings I simply don't have available without special purchase, the total of which'd be more than £2 and then I'd have overload of those things. So a cheap supermarket one's fine, easy and easiest for one.

Just read that link - doubt I'd ever find any of that stuff round these parts. It's the toppings really. Toppings for one pizza don't amount to much in volume. I'd end up having to eat many pizzas in a week to get through the ingredients. There's no shortage of base options.... but you can't buy 3 spoons of hot beef, 1/4 of a pepper, 2 jalapenos, 1/3rd of an onion and a spoon of mozzarella.

Well, you can use Pittas instead. I bet they have found their way to darkest Cornwall by now. Laffas are thinner.

In your circumstances, I think I would make half a dozen, cling-film them individually, and freeze them. You can bake them from frozen. (Well, I expect you know that.)

Probably ... but this is about houses and house prices... so more important than people/lives :)

Yes, I was. Today.... that's the only reason I ate it.... had to.

Maybe that's where things derailed... maybe some people don't know about such things and skimped/didn't follow the thread.

    Understood now :)

Notice now that loads of villages have a set of three takeaway outlets (one each of pizza/ Indian /Chinese).

Can't figure out the economics of it -how many people can afford to buy food in; or is it just an extra income for people with a day job?

My old village used to have a chinese, then it got an indian takeaway (planning permission had some funny conditions I remember). There was also a posh chinese restaurant (got taken there once by a wealthy friend who paid as she wanted to eat out and there was only me to invite).....

In the original takeaway I used to be served by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Yung - I remember Rodney was the main front and her mum used to be trotting about doing fetching/carrying jobs. My ex-bf and his mates got chased by Rodney with a machete through the village for dropping their trousers and pressing their bums against the big glass window.

Morning everyone, it's not raining here so will get into work dry for the first time this week :)

LIR bad news about your parent's house, is the sale in any way salvageable?

I'm with zagubov, in this climate eating out has been the first to go in order to save money (still battling with spontaneous shopping though) - but take aways don't seem to have been affected.

I do enjoy reading about other people's jobs & lives, its very exciting and informative :)

Its rained overnight here, but lightly. Horses looked surprised this morning, and slightly accusatory, they have spent so long in now because the ground is so wet that i think they thought i had put them outside yesterday and forgotten about them:rotfl:.

Sale salvageable, ti my parents' benefit it seems, just waiting to find out dates etc before whooping.

Can I please ask the NPs a favour? Can you explain to me how cashback sites like Quidco work? I've tried looking into these in the past but for whatever reason just didn't get it. Is there a benefit in it for me and how do I access it? What is the best one to use or do I have to use several. I don't buy masses over the net and have registered for sites in the past but they wouldn't give you money back until you get to a set amount and that took me ages to get to.

Fwiw I do most of my online shop with Amazon as you can get pretty much everything there, the prices are good and they are extremely reliable.

    Thanks everyone.
