why put it on the floor? I would tuck it on the side of the bed or under the mattress if i was in a room without a table.
and yes, you can redownload everything when you register your new kindle.
Cos the bed is one of those inflatable things so there is no side to put it down. Obviously I will be more careful next time, but no doubt I will find a different way to break the one I bought from John Lewis on the way home.0 -
PN nearly sold hthe old's home and is on the move.
Michaels had 15 minutes of fame.

Is the screen glass or plastic? always wanted to know, and does it make dangerous shards/splinters? Thanks for carrying out the experiment, and do please share the results around for maximum benefit.
It is plastic, and hasn't actually cracked. There was a nasty crunch when I stood on it, but I thought I had got away with it until I sat down on the train, turned it on, and found that only the top left hand corner of the screen worked!0 -
Mrs. Wheezy got her Kindle last Christmas and she's really happy with it, she hasn't purchased much either.
Mostly free stuff, sometimes a Kindle deal of the day for 99p.
I must not forget to tell her not to stand on it though.
What is Calibre?
No, but I will be getting calibre now! I had meant to look into a converter for other formats but hadn't got around to it yet.
I'm happy to pay up to £5 for a book that I want to read- I know I could get loads of stuff for free, but I'd rather pay and read something I like!
On the subject of costs, has anyone seen the price of a (real) book in Australia? They're like £25 just for a commonal garden paperback. No wonder none of them can read!0 -
LIR - you're right, it is summer - first day the aircon has been on on the train!0

Then...bottom falled out pf their chain today...
I'd be interested in a nosey link to their chosen one.
What was the reason given for the bottom burp? My first one was that the bottom of the chain lost their job. Got our agent to phone round to see what's occurring this morning, he's not got back to me yet.
Agent did say that mortgage companies used to send out surveyors PDQ, but now they do all the application checking first, so that if people aren't mortgageable they've not wasted money on a survey. Surveys are now not being authorised on Day 1, but Weeks 3-4 instead. He also confirmed that a lot are still doing drive bys.0
