Bought a suit on the weekend. Three pairs of trousers. I only tried one on, but one of them is wrong (it is marked the same size as the others but the waist is about 1.5 inches smaller and the leg is 0.5 shorter). They don't fit.
Brilliantly the receipt has already gone in the bin (don't ask, but it's quite similar to passport-gate, although this time i told her it wasn't her fault in line with previous NP opinion (which is still wrong by the way)). NB/ I have already been down to the bins outside to check, but they are emptied on Tuesday mornings.
Obv. bought on credit card, can I do anything about this without a receipt?

Need to take the in laws for dinner somewhere in central london tomorrow. Preferably around Farringdon / Smithfield area. Does anyone know any where suitable (they are in their 60s and anywhere noisy won't work!) Budget not really important.
ahhh, chewy, am glad you listen to us every now and then.0 -
The Aquaccutum bit may make it a bit interesting but I would take back the proper size and dodgy size pairs and be polite but firm and suggest they change the incorrect ones, failing that you could probably claim under section 75 on your credit card (assuming that is what you paid with). I would be really surprised if they won't just change the dodgy ones unless they have no stock in which case with the bankruptcy thing it might be more tricky.
I bought something at Hombase on the 15% weekend, changed my mind 48 hours later but couldn't find the receipt. Went back, explained situation and they said sorry we can only do you a credit note...and it will have to be for the full price not the 15% off price'I think....0 -

Do I have the most exits in one single room?
My new kitchen will also have four.
Only three ways out of here atm. The kitchen will have two sets of french windows, which will add a way out. And a new back door, and a new set of french windows in the restoration extention in 2025 or thereabouts.0 -
Well we have one door to the garage that then has an electric door and a separate rear door so I counted that as a total of 2 external doors. Then we have a front door, utility door, French doors and a 5 fold door.
I bet Silvercar has about a dozen though...I think....0 -

Chewy, phone the credit card company. Get a copy of the fact that you brought from them. Under the sale of goods act if they aren't fit for purpose you can return. The fact that it is Aquascutum shouldn't be relevant unless they were who you brought it from (rather than the store). Credit card company should be able to tell you which name the transaction was in.
If it is Aquascutum they may not be able to get another pair, but may be able to give you money off to the equivalent value. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Front door, balcony, bedroom 1, bedroom 2, boiler cupboard (you can stand in there so it counts) and the bathroom.

I was at work during 9/11. A colleague came at the end of my class and started describing what had happened , but I initially thought he was describing a book or movie or TV series. We found a TV where we could see some details.
My biggest worry was a possible over-reaction, that the US would go bonkers and hit back blindly. I could imagine us getting into a situation where that kind of a crisis became an everyday event, instead of just the fear of it becoming an everyday event.
I was cashing up one of the tills in the Restaurant we owned at the time in downtown Tampa.
I turned around and saw about 30 people with their faces pressed up against the heavily tinted glass windows. In my usual friendly way I opened the door and asked what the !!!! they wanted, and one of them said, look at the TV (I couldn't see it from the Bar area, and the sound was muted)
10 minutes later the place was packed with people just staring blankly at the telly....hardly a word was said for ages.
I remember thinking that all the people I knew worked in the south Tower, (especially two really good mates at Cantor) so they were safe, and then the 2nd plane came into view and the rest is history
Less than 2 weeks before the day, I had taken the family to NY for a weekend....we still have a video taken on the viewing platform on top of the south tower....my 5 yo son is pointing at planes landing at La Guardia "look daddy.....the planes are lower than we are"

I can of course print the transaction off on line, but won't get a proper statement for a couple of weeks (and that will just be an on line thing).0 -

Take them back to HoF. Shout loudly and make a scene
Other than that, it looks like you have a suit and only 2 pairs of troosers.
Remember to be extra careful when eating a Maccy D when you are D&S on the train home....it can be a messy biz !!!'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
