well if i lose 1.5 inches off my waist then the other two pairs won't fit me, so i don't think that's very MSE.
annoyingly i can't go this weekend as i'm away at a stag do. i will have to send the mrs and see if she can get an exchange (i reckon they may still some stock). hopefully my graciousness will mean that she will cooperate instead of laughing in my face when i ask!
amusingly the salesman said i didn't need to buy three pairs because aquascutum don't discontinue any of their old suits so you can always get new ones when they wear out....!0 -

I've always fancied an outside laundry room... in case the machine catches fire or floods. With an old-fashioned wooden door - and a slightly sloping floor, so if it did leak/flood, the water'd run down the slope and out through the bottom of the shed door.
Our laundry room is outside as it is at the back of our garage. If it was not also home to my lovely pantry I would never go in there, as laundry is a blue job.0 -

You actually have ended up with aretty good suit for a woman to wear. Beginniong of the month trousers, pasta or bread eating day teousers and end of the month trousers. Of course the smaller pair are the right size, even if the bigger ones are worn more often, because its bloating not fat that requires them !0 -
Are you sure he didn't say that you don't need to buy 3 pairs of trousers, as they only have 2 pairs in your size ?
You could always send my Mrs to take them back. You won't get another pair in the right size or your money back, but somehow she'll manage to screw them for a dress and a pair of nice shoes for herself. She has form in that department 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Bought a suit on the weekend. Three pairs of trousers. I only tried one on, but one of them is wrong (it is marked the same size as the others but the waist is about 1.5 inches smaller and the leg is 0.5 shorter). They don't fit.
Brilliantly the receipt has already gone in the bin (don't ask, but it's quite similar to passport-gate, although this time i told her it wasn't her fault in line with previous NP opinion (which is still wrong by the way)). NB/ I have already been down to the bins outside to check, but they are emptied on Tuesday mornings.
Obv. bought on credit card, can I do anything about this without a receipt?
2ND/
Need to take the in laws for dinner somewhere in central london tomorrow. Preferably around Farringdon / Smithfield area. Does anyone know any where suitable (they are in their 60s and anywhere noisy won't work!) Budget not really important.
1/ does it have a store label and do you just want an exchange? Are the tags still on it? If so, then it should be reasonable request to exchange them.
2/ any particular kind of food?0 -

2/ any particular kind of food?
1/ it hasn't got any store labels on it as they cut them off, but yes, all i want is a pair in the correct size. oh has agreed to go on saturday and try and get them exchanged, credit card online trx clearly says it's house of fraser and has the post code of the store on it so hopefully will work. will of course fall over if they don't have one in the right size.
2/ food - british, french or italian i think. i'm probably just going to take them to zizzis or some carp like that. i would normally go to smiths in that area, but i think it's a bit too noisy for them in there.0 -
and if we are counting doors, we need guidance-
do double doors (french or otherwise) count as 1 or 2?
trendy bi-folding doors (which I don't have, but no doubt someone will) count as 1,2,3, or 4?
do doors between house and garage count?
doors between garage and outside - other than up and over garage doors?
Ah, that's why I said ways (other than windows) to leave the building. I counted each 'door' as one.
So, even though there are French doors and an up-and-over garage door, they are all single ways in which I reach the outdoors. I didn't count the door between the house & integral garage either.
Seven exits seems a lot for a modest bungalow. It will probably be down to 3 in just over a year from now.0 -
Well we have one door to the garage that then has an electric door and a separate rear door so I counted that as a total of 2 external doors. Then we have a front door, utility door, French doors and a 5 fold door.
I bet Silvercar has about a dozen though...
garage door, garage rear door, front door, utilitly door, french doors and a single door. So you win downstairs.

Some relatives in Florida have an upstairs laundry room - everything is washed, dried and ironed upstairs so no taking laundry up or downstairs ever - neat idea huh!
There was an article ages ago about renovating old cramped terrace houses by turning the room arrangement upside down but not the rooms themselves!) - caled Chimney Pot Park I believe. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Maybe I need to stand on my head and look again.
The idea of the parking with garden over's interesting.... obviously only suitable for those houses with rear access....
I'd hate that "cooking up in the roof" malarky.0
