Pn, this is a very long ten minutes...it got a little brighter and is darkening up again, the wind is howling today too. The wind howls a lot here, i love it butbit wouldn't suit someone who found wind noise spooky.0

LiR, could it be that someone had a nice lamp with an old style plug, so they just told the electrician to leave that socket to save rewiring the plug.
Some rooms here have a mixture of old and new sockets. The TV room had to be rewired because we replaced the roof and found the electrics had been thrown across the old roof. When the electrician delved further he found the whole room was on a spur from a socket in the lounge.
LiR, a friend had a laundry shoot put in. She says its a pain, people are more likely to throw clothes in the shoot than consider whether they need washing and they just end up in a heap at the bottom of the shoot.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. damn character limits...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Folks the thing with the sockets has gotten waaaaaay out of hand. I mean, JohnnyBravo hasn't got time to post, but it is so important he's made the time to count the sockets in his house, & jump on here to let us know.
Poor ol me has no home. Therefore, no sockets.
Loved GBD222's posh alert on the previous page though! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
In other news, I am hacked off by weather forecasters. 2 weeks they've forecast bad weather here, & I've taken the car on journeys I could have (& with the current weather would have) walked for fun.
Hurumph! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Really surprised no-one had a go at me re the Diana comment. I know it has been over 15 years, but I'm amazed the daily mail & express haven't got me down as public enemy number 1 for sacrilige(sp?) in the same way I have lir for her book abuse!;)
I mean that comment in relation to society as a whole, not just the NP btw...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Silvercar, how many sockets?
I don't believe I have 30 plugs! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
If it's a very small socket with 3 round holes, it may be for a lamp that you plug in there. The socket is switched on/off by one of the light switches on the wall.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I've been amazed that the safety campaigners did not make a big deal about the fact that Diana and Dodi were not wearing seat belts. The only person in the car wearing a seat belt was the bodyguard/detective, and he survived despite being in the front. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
