Windows 7, all I want to do is connect to a remote SQL Server DB. Older windows you just download the relevant version of sql express managemnt console, click on install and 60 seconds later you have SQL Express managment Console under start:programmes.

Now you seem to download a huge package, work your way through a massive wizard and not have the management console anywhere to be found on the PC when it has finished installing :(
    I think....

Does it just store bookmarks or does it 'cache' the pages?
It is taking a copy of the whole page, or a part/selection of a page, or saves the url (bookmark) and you choose. It does 3 things:
    1. If I just click on the toolbar it grabs the whole page or offers me to just save the url. Choosing full page I found that sometimes this wasn't what I wanted as the page formatting meant I ended up with a black record.
    2. Choosing just the url wasn't what I wanted either, so I don't do that
    3. If I select some text and click on the toolbar, it creates a new record and pastes the selected text onto the new record. This is what I usually do as I then re-write and reformat the page
It is saving a whole copy - so when websites no longer exist, I still have the pictures and information, just the link back to the original will be dead.

I'd been collecting (writing an html file on my desktop) a recipe list for a couple of years - but there were no photos and some of the links dies.

Evernote has some (formatting) annoyances... but it's the best thing I've seen so far and it does the job I want it to.

The house I grew up in had various old plug sockets requiring different shaped plugs (most were no longer connected ) and also a set of push bell buttons linked to a panel in the basement.

    Posh alert?

    There was also a dumb-waiter...

Sounds wonderful. I would love a dumb waiter, and a laundry shoot. Instead i throw stuff down the back stairs.

Just heard aquasctum has gone under.

I'll share one link with you all for half an hour or so..... by right-clicking I can choose to share any one entry (recipe) by several means, one of which is "url" just for pasting.

NOTE: It is VERY slow loading when I do this though - so it's not something that works well,

You can see what the recipe looks like on my screen, then on the right:
    - Source of the recipe
    - Which tags I used (MainMeals, Vegetarian)
    - When it was created, modified and the size of the file.

    http://www.evernote.com/shard/s158/sh/507714e6-1596-4faa-9e0d-4e79e0bb1699/4c70c54a921eab16dd681f0e38c0d9aa

The whole record is fully editable by me too, so I am not "stuck" with the way it was on the website I found it on.

If I had a tag for "Nice, but I know I'll never actually make this" - that recipe would bear that tag :)

Simply because no one has bothered to upgrade it :)

You can still get the old (round pin) type of plugs Linky

But its weird just one plug was left, no? The whole place other than that was rewired.

It'd also be a great way for people to collect together their house design ideas and pictures - to create an easy/quick scrapbook as they spotted things online.... for example.

There is a data bandwidth limit (with the free version) - and this morning I hit that limit.... but when I checked I've one more day of "this month" so tomorrow I can start adding again,.

Imagine if you had a big house - with rooms you never used. And that room was purely the "trunks, boxes and suitcases and junk room" - and the rewire was going ahead, but to do that room'd take an extra day and £200 - and you were trying to get it completed in time for an event.... you might say "Oh don't bother with that one - we never use that room anyway".
