Oh, I thought we were totally outnumbered!

You're making me hungry. Mushroom risotto, mmm. The kids aren't keen on mushrooms either otherwise I'd make mushroom risotto a lot. Going to sneak some into a spag bol later. I made one without the other week but it really, really misses the earthiness. They're going back in, the kids can deal with it.

No - we've just been keeping it (and ourselves) quiet!

Edit - I think thats one of the places I miss mushrooms most... in spag bol. It really isn't the same :(

    Thats terrible.

My granny liked mushrooms, they were her favourite thing, but her husband didn't so he banned them from the house. It always made me sad for her and my mother a lways cooked mushrooms when they came over.

I really do miss them - when I eat out with other people I pretty much always pick something with mushrooms in it!

Yes - should we all be rushing out and ordering our solar now 'while stocks last'?

They cut the price of the house I was going to buy on Monday and now someone else has bought it :( There are 2 others I am looking at but I am waiting to here from a joint investor. There is definitely some activity in the market at the start of this year which surprises me given all the doom and gloom in the press I thought buyers would be holding back. May be the threatened Arctic plunge in Feb will put the dampeners on - it will certainly make digging footings harder if the ground is frozen solid and concrete definitely won't set properly (sorry LIR).
    I think....

No, no, no. Surely not now?

I just need the two bits done, then the rest is internal works...so just long enou for my footings please!

Interstingly, my parents pulled their house from the website for some works to be done...repairs after the storms, nothing major, and the agent has had a few calls asking if its still on the market. Most likely to be noisy neighbours probably though.

Did I mention that I discovered remains of two puffballs, hiding in the field? They chose a good spot which cannot be mown and where no one usually walks.

There's an ad in our local rag this week guaranteeing to have solar in place by 3rd March for anyone who calls 'NOW!' Our roof is doomed to change shape, so I'm excused agonising over this. :)

Can't submit any of my tax forms as I'm missing a UTR for the business. (thought I'd asked for it -turned out I hadn't) Anyway, the company that cheerfully took my dosh on Tuesday for an on-line filing program hasn't emailed the key to unlock it. They're unobtainable on the phone. If they weren't on the HMRC list, I'd think it was a scam.

I thought it was the self assessment that was due 31 January, not business tax????

Why is it that the M6 toll road only requires you to swipe or tap (I can't remember which) your credit or debit card, whereas the Severn Bridge toll requires a manned aisle, a chip and pin wired machine and waiting for a receipt.

Further why is it the M6 traffic can cope with variable tarrifs depending on the time of day, but put the price up of the Severn Bridge on 1 January and 3 weeks later people still don't know the correct charge.

It took me 8 minutes to get through earlier in the week, with only 6 cars in front of me. Grrrr!
At least the tolls are only in one direction.

Partnership and our own SA forms are due in. :(

I didn't register the partnership with HMRC, though I genuinely believed that I'd done so. Things like that seem to happen nowadays, and the other way around, so I get the odd pleasant surprise too.:rotfl:

So, we would have done ours last week, but the System won't let either of us submit anything without that missing UTR. Moira Stewart has taken on a whole new scary persona in our eyes...
