Err....there don't seem to be any problems with parking where I live. As there are no traffic wardens, people pay very little attention to signs.
The local town can become a bit congested though, as the main street does not allow two cars to pass each other for most of its length. That's awkward when the school buses are trying to get through, or when a couple of tractors with trailers meet up.0 -
The Jag XF is the only car that has ever made me feel car sick. Some odd sort of suspension system apparently. Luckily we found this out on a test drive.
DD1 wants me to have one.
When I got my KM07YEV (my 1st S-Max), she wanted me to get an S-Type, and when I got DY10OXJ (2nd) and EO61KVB (the one I’ve got now) she wanted me to get an XF. OH usually has the exec car, so it looks like she’ll be going in the S-Max if I get that.
On the DY10OXJ front; this trader’s had the car for about 5 months and it still won’t shift. Been dropped from about £16k to £10k now! Yes, that mileage is for real!💙💛 💔0 -

HATE folded page corners.
Hehehehe
I fold over the whole page really, so it makes a nice bold triangle of the top half of the page. With a nice pressed crease to drive the point home.
I love second hand books, and finding evidence of other peep's read too....so their underlines, their folded page corners, the pages it falls open on.0 -

One of the best books most people have never read.I think.
The Bible is really worth a read. For most non believers, we find it too easy to dismiss the wise and beautiful bits becuase of the bits we di not like or the bits we think we know. Which is a tremendous shame. there is some beauty in their that is worth reading.0 -

The passage that GDB quoted is here:

lir, which other bits would you recommend as particularly worth reading? I think I would start with some of the stories: Joseph (last few chapters of Genesis), David (most of the book of 1 Samuel), Daniel (first half of the book of Daniel), Jesus (as told by Matthew, Mark, Luke & John in the books of those names) and his early followers (book of Acts).Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Gosh, what a huge question!
I think, to capture people's imagination in it as a book, rather than a philosphy, the obvious recommenadions are genesis, but for me the Creation, and psalms....for The writing and funnily enough the opposite i think to what you would go for with the lack of story!, and Revelations, such hope and despair in emotion, and also, amazing literary use of symbolism, plus everyone thinks they know it.
As a work of literature, to encourage people to read it in entirity i would keep much of the Gospels til last, because i think people cannot but help bring their own baggage to the Bible (or The Qu'ran, another good, valuable read) so starting with a bit that will make them want to argue rather than explore seems that many will lose the parts that really can apply to anyone regardless of faith or lack of. Edit: i think i prefer, ithe main, the OT. Although the God of the OT is very much a god i would struggle to love, there are things in there which so much of the world's dischord is attributed too but less yelled about, thing which thise same peoples can agree upon, which when you thinlk about it really is pretty amazing.0 -
I was going to put a tongue in cheek, modernised version of it, but I won't for fear of causing offence, where none was intended.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
