anyone else watching the grand national?
I'm on shakalaboomboom and always right
Shouldn't it be a dinosaur walk rather than a horse race if the name is (boom boom) shakalakaboomboom? Sorry, my head is now full of 80s pop songs. Fantastic name. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Dh and i watched it, but i hate that race.
Then we went and massaged special girl again.
We have wasted today....we went to the local town for veg, got sidetracked by charity shops and spent too much on books, walked the dogs. Thats it. Nothing tidied, weeded, moved. We always find the weekends after the fourday break weekends a bit exhausting, and in fact get less done in four day weekends than threeday ones. Weird huh?0 -

Went to the farmers market, came back and fell asleep for 2 hours. H even grouted the bathroom without me noticing. He's also painting me a magnetic patch on the kitchen wall which I will spray with blackboard paint.0 -

I don't think I earn anywhere near what some on here earn.
But, my costs are low (atm anyway), & I have to say that after experiences at my last job, I'd rather have things like time, freedom, friends and so on, than a bit more cash.
Strangely though, I have savings built up a bit a little. Though I'm now in a funny situation where a few bits are locked away, & with a couple of overheads I have, cash flow is tight, for 3-4 months.
Which is annoying, as I want to go on a mini book buying spree, but can't quite afford it just yet.
I'm hoping that my £2 coin jar will be full soon, as I allow myself a splurge when I cash this in. I know its nowhere near though! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Managed to pot up the remaining toms and some peppers, but that was about it, and it didn't quite rain here.
Spent most of pm in Exeter getting sorted for wedding apparel, which I looked forward to about as much as having a vasectomy. It turned out to be much less painful than I expected though, thanks to a rather camp guy who really knew his stuff.
But..... I'm on strict instructions to reduce my waistline by at least an inch in the next 3 months.:(

There was a discussion a couple of pages back about good older children/teen's books. Missk really enjoyed the Hunger Games trilogy which was subsequently really quickly devoured by lir.
I wondered if any of the nice peeps have read any of these ones, which have made it on to my "to read" list:
The Book Thief, by Marcus Zusak:

I've been crafty and nabbed the choices of the young readers at my library (perk of the job)...
Also library users, the new adult JK Rowling has been announced this week. If you get in now, you should be able to get at the top or near to the top of your library's reservation list, so you don't have to wait months. It's already number 10 on pre-orders on Amazon and doesn't come out until September:
