    I've been Money Tipped!
The problem with the map is, if we organise a meet up we have left a trail with a literal map of empty houses on that day :).

I fell asleep today again, two hours i think. My tea went cold.

I didn't... is it significant? I can get the gist, but don't see why it's so funny it's worth mentioning... or is it some London-centric thing that a bumpkin won't understand?

You typed that so quickly it almost feels like it could just be cribbed from hubpages where it would normally be generating income...
I did think, as I was typing it off the top of my head, and from scratch ..... that I should write a hub and link to it.

I did think that it belonged in two hubs....

I genuinely wrote that off the top of my head though. Ad hoc.

Thanks PN, plenty of things to choose from! That should keep us nice and busy :D
You don't have to do any of it .... but there's enough stuff there to fit between stuff you find to do yourselves.... some "while on the route" fill in activities that don't leave you lost for where next.

    Q for Lydia,

Solar panel guy been round today. Apparently we can have solar panels on our summer house and shed, so leave the front of the house looking beautifully old.

He reckons the panels made in the UK by Sharp are superior to the ones that come from China and worth paying the extra for. The panels he recommends are about £800 more than cheaper chinese imports and have a 10 year warranty and a performance guarantee of 90% after 10 years and 80% after 20 years. Is that sales talk or sense?

Downside is two half dead trees would need removing and my gardener reckons that would cost about £1500 alone!

I decided to get the cheapo Suntech panels (Chinese) but when it actually came to it, the supplier hadn't delivered any, so the installing company gave me a free upgrade to Hyundai panels (S Korean). My neighbour (with identical roof and inverter) paid the extra for the top of the range Sanyo ones (Japanese). I'll see if I can grab him and ask him how much he's generated, so we can make a direct comparison of his performance and mine to see if the brand of panel makes much difference. I'll get back to you when I've got some data.

I did contemplate trying to support the UK economy by getting Sharp ones, but they're only assembled here - all the actual solar cells are made elsewhere.

Naturally any possible meet-up would need to be organised by PM/email rather than in the public domain. The map wouldn't really be sufficient to lead web-surfing burglars to specific houses, anyway. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Called in at expensive services in Cumbria - petrol was £1.50 per litre).

In my best MSE voice I said "I'll just put in 20 litres here " " Naw, better put in £30 quids worth". It was only as we approached the counter we realised....
I had a courtesy car and only drove from the garage to here and back.... put £9 in it as I had to return it filled with "as much as you used" (bit of a nuisance really as there are no petrol stations near the garage), so filled up 15 miles away from it. £9.... I spent that 15 miles (30 minutes on those roads) doing the maths in my head and thinking SURELY I've got that wrong!! But I hadn't.

[a] I am living off the grid, so to speak - and my address is not known; I am using another address, in the same way that people don't change their address to their caravan when they go on holiday :)
Anybody reading would know I'd have the calculator out and decide you're all too expensive to visit.
[c] Anybody reading this and thinking I would go and thinking they know where I am, would already know I've nothing to nick .... and it'd cost them £100 extra in travel costs to check ... so not worth it.

I’ve just had the same problem. Asked for a Merc S-Class for a wedding, paid them, and was told that it’s got to come back with a full tank of fuel. Mercedes-Benz Bishop’s Stortford to Croydon and back, with a night on my drive was £37 in fuel . It was only when I looked at the badge on the back and realised it was an S600 that I started to scream!

13's old enough to be working. Get them doing stuff, pay £2/hour.
