The traffic that we do get, without blog seems to come from variations of 'kitchen' 'barn conversion' and kitchens for barn conversions or whatnot. I think it's simply because there's one story about doing a kitchen and maybe there's a photograph with the barn conversion in it or something? I don't even know. I don't really understand the difference between hits and other things that sound the same.
Long way to go...
Cheers... there's another article I can write.
Later on, you can look at article writing to drive traffic to your site. They give greater exposure from sources you'd have never captured.... e.g. on one site, I've had over 1,000,000 people read my stuff. Wouldn't get THAT on my own website.0 -

All I want to do is start a blog on it, and it's already WordPress. My brain seriously doesn't do what it used to, I can't take it in. How did I manage it last year?
Would be good if I started with some content though. What do you start a blog with? I'm the queen of procrastination, can't even think what to write about myself as the profile. Sigh.
I wanted to write about converting a bedroom into an en-suite, is that too much for one blog post, with floorplans and stuff?
May be you should write the hair blog first to get your creative juices flowing, you seem to be able to write at length on that
I'll let you know re kids hair products this afternoon. I remember we were going to try mixchick but it is so expensive. I would have to say I don't think we are that sucessful yet with often more frizz than curls.
DS did have a small amount cut off but is getting to the unable to see again phase and it is really hard to stop his locksing up as he does not have it plaited/styled like the girls.
WE added a water softener when we had the extension which I think helps a lot on all these things, Salisbury plain is limestone I seem to remember so perhaps you should look in to this to LIR?I think....0 -
Depending where you are looking at the data, hits can be misleading.
This shouldn't be an issue in WP which will be showing you proper hits. However in some stats packages hits are the total of page elements.
So, if one visitor turns up today and looks at your page and that page contains 3 photos and the page, that could show up as 4 hits. If they show their friend in an hour, that might show as 8 hits. What you really want is for it to show 2 hits, 1 unique (based on IP).
However.... having hits is useless if you're not converting.
You need to think about how you can measure your conversions. then you need to be able to convert more. This is Marketing Plan 2013 stuff.
If I turn up at your website looking for a nice kitchen - you need to know that I came and be able to entice me into getting a quote. Then you need to make sure that those quotes you are doing are converting.... and if not then improve your sales technique, or tighten up your criteria for quotations.... Marketing 2013-2014.
Think about sites you go to - which ones have you signed up with? Why did you? Did they give you something you wanted? Something free?
Build a list of people who are interested in what you do. Send them a Newsletter maybe.... which is an opportunity to turn them into a future quote, or to sell advertising space in your Newsletter (Marketing Plan 2014).
Think how you can get people to pick up the phone and call, or email, or request a quote.... and for those people to not be a waste of space. And, to be able to do all of that without p155ing them off0 -
Of course shouldn't you be sending us their via an affiliate link?!PasturesNew wrote: »Maybe the real answer for passports is a mini plastic wallet like hikers used to have for their maps. Plastic wallet round the neck on string. Instantly available, waterproofed .... it wouldn't be in a pocket then. And being round your neck it's obvious if you've got it - and easy to get it out when needed.

A comb would leave my hair like cotton wool, i use my fingers, a tangle teaser, an afro comb and sometimes one of the horses brushes (the ine the tangle teaser was based on). But only when my hair is very wet and full of conditioner. I am excessivly gentle with it. Sometimes dh does it for me while i sit in the bath. I love that.0 -

Lol, good hair day pics then michaels?
At the last house i noted how much my hair disliked the water when the water softener was fitted. It very contrary isn't it:o:D?
I think, in all honesty, its the right combination of stuff...For the hair, the place and the weather, and sometimes the one tried and tested routine has to change a bit. In london my hair is at its best for how i manage it, and thats hard water too.
Sulfates (which are in bubble baths whipch i use sometimes wven when dunking) are i think the source of current disgruntled situation.0
