DG do you have any thoughts on the minimum plot width for a 3 bed detached?
What you've suggested in theory makes sense. Has it got road frontage - ie. it's directly next to an existing house facing in the same direction? Feel like a satelite view from google?
If you have a look at your LA's website and do a bit of a search, hopefully you will find some kind of booklet that dictates the guidelines (I meant to say that) of what they like to see in applications. It will give you distances from other houses, garden lengths, how big turning circles for parking should be and number of spaces required, whether a garage counts as one of those parking spaces etc.
It's that that actually dictates the size of house you can fit on the plot. Phone em up if you can't find it online.
There's always the semi-detached option as well. Would a bigger semi be worth more than a smaller detached. Are there any in the area?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'd rather eat my hair than try to use Paint for it but I have no other idea what to useI find excel can be used as a simple plan drawing tool. There is also google sketch-up but I find it too complicated to do simple stuff.
I do mine in powerpoint - not because it's the best thing for the job, but because it's good enough for my purposes and I already know how to use it. I draw random boxes and then click on the format tab and type in the exact size I want them so they are to scale. The floorplans I posted of my house a while ago were ones I did from scratch with powerpoint. DG, feel free to PM me with an email address if you'd like me to send you a powerpoint file with some floorplans on it so you can see the sort of thing I mean.lostinrates wrote: »Un like viva, i think, from my experience, the intentionally (or unintentionally really) childless can Make the best godparents (like one of my dead ones). My most involved and generally lovely godmother was unintentionally childless (married fairly late, tried to have some but they didn't happen), and my brother's amazing and altogether wonderful godmother was also unintentionally childless (loved children and worked as a paediatric nurse but never found the right bloke to marry).Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I recently bought a few books about curly hair from amazon and tried the 'curly girl' technique last night (main difference is using gel, which i have never, ever used before and not using frizz ease which i very, very rarely go without) and my hair is brilliant this morning.
I don't have curly hair but rinsing it in bathwater is the worst thing you can do with any hair type. In the house we rented, the shower was a bit pathetic and I couldn't work out why my hair had turned so dull and it was simply that it wasn't rinsing it properly. It's terrible on straight hair so I can't imagine with curly. Find a jug and rinse, rinse, rinse with clean water.
My hair is bleached white so it takes some looking after. The absolute miracle product is this:

I only use the original oil, but it's a million times better than Frizz Ease. You put one pump in your hair while it's still wet. It's totally amazing. It's 100% natural and soaks into the hair immediately so it never looks greasy and it smells divine. I've recommended it to everyone that asks how I get my hair so nice (when it's brushed) and the couple of people that have actually started using it, swear by it. I only use cheap shampoo and conditioner to offset the cost of the oil and it's absolutely fine but my friend uses the whole lot and won't go without it now, she's noticed such a difference.
It's expensive but one bottle lasts a few months. Haridressers suffer with their hands, what with them being wet so much. One of the girls told me that her dermatitis had cleared up totally since she started putting it on clients' hair. If I've got a bit too much on my hands, I put the excess on my face
You'll get it cheaper online but I like to support local business and buy from hairdressers in town. Mine has a loyalty scheme, so I end up getting the extra back once I've spent a certain amount. There's at least 4 selling it in Stepford, where I live
Longest post ever on a bottle of hair oil. Can you tell I like it?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yes, i am beginning to realise that its not helped.
I have tried morrocan oil but it just didn't seem to like my hair, it seemed to dry it out? I still have the tester bottle, maybe i will try that again next time. Oh...and i see they do a curl cream. I usually use a cream, i find mousse drying and too likely to go stiff if i over use, and i am amazed gel has been so light...i didn't think it would be heavy, but i am always looking for better creams. I like my hair to feel natural...not stiff, and to move, lots of curlies sacrifice movement to get less frizz, i hate stiff hair: i want my curls, but i want them to feel lilke real hair, not doll hair. Cream has always been best for that for me, though, as i say, gel is surprising me.
Doozer i WILL try the oil i have a again, thanks.
Anyway, despite having woken with happy curls they are frizzing now a bit..
Its always worth trying new things, but they often remind me why my routine is as it is. I will give curly girl techniques a couple of weeks before cracking open the frizz ease, but haven't been so long without it all my adult life, so doubt it will be easy:o0 -
We didn't do well choosing god parents. The theory eas to pick a married couple who hadnt yet had children, so in the event ours were orphaned they would have a substitute set of parents.
My sister asked me to be godfather of her 2nd son and 2 years later, I boogered off to this country, so I suppose I'm not the best godfather.I'm on the Surrey side of London and my cousins are on the Essex side.
On the Surrey side of London also. Last time we've been to Essex was to pick up baby westie near Chelmsford. It took us almost 3 hours to get there. Left home at 7PM (thinking rush hour would be over) and got there at 10.chewmylegoff wrote: »I don't know whether it was the snowboard impact, but something made me empty the pockets of my jeans as soon as I got in the house,

Maybe you needed more? I think you need quite a bit more of it than frizz ease serum. It does the exact opposite of drying on my hair. If I put it on DDs hair, even without blow drying it looks shiny and healthier.
They do a curl product too, I think.
Treat yourself to a proper haircut, you deserve it!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Its very, very hard to find hairdressers who are good with curly hair. My old haordresser, excellent, has a six month waiting list . Tried three places locally and went from ok to terrible (though i do also recommend the salon only aveda oil treatment, its delicious).
If i use as much as frizzease i would use a tester bottles worth within a week easily! (my hai is not very thick, as ehen my brain swells i shed a lot of hair probably through lack of circulation plus Hypothyroid) but its rasonably long, when straight its beyond my waist, when its sheds a lot it gets shorter, but when everything in control it can get down to my bum. So i use a LOT of product.:o. It can get expensive very quickly.0 -
I keep getting surprised when I press the return key and something actually happens.
Amazing!
