We didn't do well choosing god parents. The theory eas to pick a married couple who hadnt yet had children, so in the event ours were orphaned they would have a substitute set of parents.
DS1's have diametrically opposing views on just about anything to DS1, if we had left him orphaned in childhood, life would have been difficult. DS2's god parents were going through a messy break up at the time we chose them but kept it hidden, so we haven't seen her since DS2 was 6 months old. He has since remarried and the new wife isn't really interested in other peoples children.
Our latest will assigns responsibility to someone more in line with our thinking. (both now being 18+, they don't need adopting as such, but having an inheritance at such a young age could bring with it irresponsibility, so they can't access the money without approval until they are older).
We had also asked our parents to be guardians, if anything should happen, given that they were under 50 when the eldest was born, we've also changed that.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My niece wants to adopt me as her god parent, then she changed her mind and just wants me to adopt her...now. I would be a cool parent in her eyes, I told her that is because she doesn't live with me.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's interesting to hear the logic from the other side of the fence silver. Having made a conscious decision not to have children - from a very early age - I've been asked several times to be a God Parent. Why anyone would want me or DH has always puzzled us a bit. I didn't even know how to hold a baby until I was forty and don't trust myself with pets in case I forget to feed or water them. Surely my friends pick up on that? Nevertheless I have somehow managed to end up with two. The first one I'm not in touch with currently though I know she is fine (she's an adult now anyway) and the second is one of my nephews so in the case of any inheritance it would go equally to both anyway. I'm not convinced that intentionally childless couples make the best pick. However having heard Pastures case for scrumping and a crafty fag, I am turning the corner a bit on this one. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? My brother's ex wife is one of James' godparents....she was his godparent before she was my brother's wife, they met for the first time at his christening and hey presto, they got together afterwards.
All the other godparents for him and the other boys are very boring and very responsible, story of my life really, I should have named myself boring and Responsible Sue on here.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Anyone else watching The Big Question on BBC1? It has the English Defence League leader on. Anyoine with a couple of minutes to spare might find this article on spurious statistics worth a read.

What interests me is that they are stopping doing these pieces now - clearly they are not exciting enough for a 'news' organisationAnyoine with a couple of minutes to spare might find this article on spurious statistics worth a read.

weather was great in the alps, snow was somewhat slushy by mid afternoon though. snowboarders not looking in their blindspot not so enjoyable. my neck hurts, that may be more to do with the seats on the eurostar, which i'm pretty sure were deliberately designed to be as unergonomic as possible, than landing head-first.0

It is the skiers overtaking that cause the problems, just like on the road if you are overtaking it is up to you to keep clear of the other slope users.
Plus only skiers have a problem with slushy conditions, its fine on a snowboard.chewmylegoff wrote: »weather was great in the alps, snow was somewhat slushy by mid afternoon though. snowboarders not looking in their blindspot not so enjoyable. my neck hurts, that may be more to do with the seats on the eurostar, which i'm pretty sure were deliberately designed to be as unergonomic as possible, than landing head-first.I think....0
