I have no idea who my god parents are.

I am not god parent to anyone either. Not even my nephews.

I do know I am named as an executor in a friends will. Obviously he hasn't planned to leave me anything then...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I'm supposed to be working, deciphering exactly how I made my own blinking website and changing it. I don't know how you do it, PN, it blows my mind. All I want to do is start a blog on it, and it's already WordPress. My brain seriously doesn't do what it used to, I can't take it in. How did I manage it last year?

Would be good if I started with some content though. What do you start a blog with? I'm the queen of procrastination, can't even think what to write about myself as the profile. Sigh.

I wanted to write about converting a bedroom into an en-suite, is that too much for one blog post, with floorplans and stuff?

''Turning a bedroom in to an en suite can add convenience to your life and make your home more salable in the future. While it might seem as simple as partitioning off a corner of a large room sufficient to squeeze in a shower, loo and sink, this rarely results in the best layout for the bedroom or bathroom.

In these floor plans with layouts I have opted for this .......because''

Some times its easier to re write crud, than to get started, so i have provided you with something to rewrite and correct doozer :D

A brief question for michaels. Your kids hair looks great in their pics. I used to mangae mine really well, but have noticed its had a few awkward days since we moved. I think this is because i am 'rinsing' it in my bathwater when i cannot lift a jug (only have a bath).

I recently bought a few books about curly hair from amazon and tried the 'curly girl' technique last night (main difference is using gel, which i have never, ever used before and not using frizz ease which i very, very rarely go without) and my hair is brilliant this morning.

I was wondering what your wife does with your kids' hair, and in particular if she uses shampoo, and which shampoos and conditioners she uses?

Which also makes me wonder if your son has had a hair cut yet...you said you thought he should have one sometime back.

Edit: there is an afro carribean specialist hair dressers in a nearby town so i am considering braving go in there for a hair cut. Its more likely i will cut it myself over easter though. :)
Mine's unruly, curly and has a tendency to frizz and do its own thing; it's not afro though.

My "quick fix" is to brush it straight out of the shower and tie it back in a band. Then use 4-6 hairpins to pin it down - usually leaving the house like this and removing the pins/band once I've got to my destination. Once I pull the pins out it's tamed down and a quick flick through with a comb is "good enough/you'll do".

Well, one top tip is to make sure your blog has a lot of entries (say 20 minimum) and to backdate them - you can do that. Nobody wants to turn up to a site to find only 1-3 entries and they were all written last Tuesday.

Take one problem/item at a time. So start by writing down a list of 20 problems you are solving for people.

Language is essential. Think about how people Google. They don't Google for "How to create an en-suite bathroom", more likely to be "Best en-suite design" or "How much is an en-suite cost" or "How much does an en-suite add" or "En-suite designs" or "Small en-suites".

Then, using that as your title - re-use those words in your first 1-2 sentences and answer the question.

    Title: "Small en-suites"
Content: Small en-suites can easily be done badly, but you can get some great en-suites if you think about how you'd use it. Small en-suites can be a better solution for your needs - but if you're looking to resell the house then small en-suites can appear pokey and even lose you a sale.

Write a minimum of 500 words.

One thing you can do is set aside one day/month for the writing - and write your pieces when you're in the mood for it .... bang out about 5-10 or so and date them to auto publish at future dates (known as scheduling).

You need really to do some keyword research - and then look at the stats in your Wordpress. Once a week, see what phrases people are arriving at your site with - and that's your title for your next piece. Over time that adds up to some highly targetted pages, targetted at the sort of people you know are finding your site, so then you should get more of them.

    Install Jetpack for stats.

That's my 2 second introduction to traffic. But it's as large a subject as building a house from scratch, choosing the right materials, getting the right contractors, furnishing/decorating it so its desirable then maximising its resale price in a short period of time. It's as endless as that too :)

Doozer - in time (not now probably) - also scan in satisfied customer letters. You'll have to remove their names/addresses because of Data Protection.

For the future, make sure you follow up every job with a request for a Testimonial - and get them to sign for their initials to be put alongside their testimonial on your site. So you'd type out what they said and finish with with Mr B, Birmingham.

If you are doing any work for local business people (their house, but they own a business), you could invite them to have their business name mentioned in their Testimonial and maybe a link back to their website.... even a cheesy photo! People LOVE testimonials and that will sell your site/services/yourselves. If you could, in time, get a couple of satisfied customer photos then that'd make a big difference. Put it on the 2013 Marketing Plan.
