You definitely know who Madge is, see how far you need to get down this list of clues before you know the answer:

    1) Elton John says she mimes at her concerts.
    2) She is known for regularly changing the way she looks
    3) Her ex-husband owns a pub in London, they got married in a Castle in Scotland.
    4) She could be described as a Material Girl
    5) and allegedly has at times been Like A Virgin
    6) If you take out every other letter in her name, you get her latest album MDNA

    eta and just for fun
    7) She once released a book called s e x that had a metal cover. DH bought a copy in America and got stopped by customs for carrying it. Personally I think they just wanted an excuse for a peek.
Oh. 4-5 gave it away. Madonna. Why's she called Madge then? I was thinking of Madge from Neighbours in the 80s.

I don't follow music.... or what celebs say/do about/to/for each other. I didn't even know if she was married, or who that might be to, even if it were a £1,000,000 question.

If you'd left out 4 and 5 I'd still not have known.

It's just a name the British press called her when she moved here and its short for Madonna. It's just irony. However she hates it and says its why she moved back to the US. A good reason to continue doing so I think. I've not met her, but every time I've seen her on TV I've found her to be a bit snotty and ungratious.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

PS: Please don't answer if this puts you in a difficult position...

    Diplomatic answer. :D

We have had rain here this morning.

Well, my footy team looks doomed...:(

On the good side, I ate (slowly) a slightly undercooked potato waffle. Onto solids again!:rotfl:
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Just don't try to borrow them from the library. They were doing fair to middling traffic until the promo for the film started. Since then the wait list has entered the stratosphere.

ETA: missk, do you think it should be a 15 certificate? The books seem to be pitched at a slightly younger audience than the film.

We own all the books :o and the companion :o

And no, the film is about right. There is a bit of violence but nothing too overt. It's more disturbing for someone who can see in different eyes about society. There's many levels to the movie.
