You can't really tell. Something could be discovered years in the future. My sibling's fighting the potential of total paralysis, and has newly discovered this is the direct result of a simple accident with a bicycle 45 years ago. It went undiagnosed/unspotted all those years.... but I guess things are better these days. Back then they strapped you up and you got pushed around for 2-3 months, then it was over. Thing was, there was something they didn't spot.

That sounds scary, Pastures. What injuries did your sibling have originally, and what was it that they didn't spot?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Thanks. I didn't have time to phone the insurer and check. I didn't risk it because I am freaked out by any possibility of being uninsured when driving since my experience with LNE's compensation claim has made me all too aware that motor insurance claims can be huge. My lawyers are describing my families claim as "fairly small" because everyone that was in LNE's car is either dead or fine. The big claims are for people with life-altering injuries - their claims can run into millions very easily.

You are going to have to drive it untaxed to its MOT, unless you've ordered a pick-up or trailer.

I've always been under the impression that driving it to the MOT garage was the only time you could legally drive it without an MOT, and therefore it would be covered by the insurance. I hope that's true.

I think that is also permitted if it is to a booked MOT as otherwise it would be impossible to get tax/mot as you couldn't get one without the other.

Good news on the television news tonight that the US/UK extradition treaty has been found to favour the US. I hope that this helps Gary MacKinnon's fight to stay in the UK

This post may well be a bit old hat considering I'm quoting a post from when I went to bed last night and you busy lot did a whole 3 pages of posts after I retired, but peas are my favouritest veggie too. I can't remember where you were on the mushroomometer, but I wonder if the people who don't like mushrooms like peas...

    can't stand mushrooms.

I like both peas and mushrooms, but feel peas are overcnsumed where a less carby veg would be better for people.

I always cook too many peas. End up hlf filling a plate with them.
I also always cook too much pasta whenever I cook it.

No such thing as too many peas as long as they are nice ones.

I wanted to go to bed at about 10.30 but decided to stay up until 11.45 to exploit a banking loophole worth a couple of quid. Instead I failed to make the xfer before midnight as got sidetracked and so instead have made a few quid less than if I had just made the transfer at 10.30 :(
    I think....
