Pn, my patents are also getting a flurry of interest from non proceedables. More interest in the last few weeks than since went on the market.

Lovely afternoon break now. Me, the cats, two chooks, lots of bumble bees and lady bugs in the front garden lounging before getting back to it. I need to get the hammock up, but its too far from house for wifi. I shpuldstart scouring ebay for garden furniture.

She's not getting any younger.... and has now wasted so many years in the wrong house.

That was our main reason for flogging the last house cheaply, rather than wait for 'better times.' We figured I might not have the ability to wait that long!

Where I slipped-up was thinking that others would be having similar thoughts, so the falling market would throw up lots of bargains. Most others decided to just hang on and see...:(

That left us looking for 'motivated' sellers, so we were lucky finding one who had something acceptable in the right place and at a good price.

We could probably find half a dozen properties now that would work for us, but this is over three years on. People in our former search area have finally got real......except at this time of year, a lot of the 'old chestnuts' suddenly re-emerge from the woodwork, and at the old prices! :rotfl:

Optical mouse has been !!!!ing about for a couple of weeks ..... trying to get the cursor to move 1" across the screen has been a bit like using those old-fashioned toy cars that you have to repeatedly rub across the carpet to build up charge.... so, I bit the bullet as I'd grabbed an old mouse I have (kept under the "that might come in handy" rules), but I think it's before left/right hand button functions were sorted out.

Although it physically has a left and right button and a wheel in the middle.... you can't actually use it to click on anything. To get here, to post this, I just had to do a Ctrl-F and find "Quick Reply" then pressed the tab key a few times until I saw the cursor in this box.

As I rebooted the PC and changed meeses in order to increase productivity .... I think I'll have to forget that idea until next time I am in a town that has meeses ..... could be 10 days before I'm in one of those.

Edit: Oh, editing this was a deep joy :)

Well, people's perception of a bargain might be out of whack too. My house is priced to sell and is a fair price.... it was about 21% more at the peak, so that's a good bargain already I'd say. It doesn't appear on LR or I'd Zoopla it. Suffice to say, 30% of the raft of viewers have booked for seconds and 70% of those are chomping at the bit .... but they're still in their stables chomping.

I'm not suggesting yours is overpriced, and we were in the same position as you. Lots of keen interest and no one able to deliver.

However, when we'd dropped by over £50k, our eventual buyers just went for it and lopped £30k off theirs. (Figure verified on Nethouseprices later.) Dunno what their buyers did. It was a chain with a FTB at the bottom somewhere.

One reason we could sell so cheaply was that we hung onto a small bit of land with obvious potential for a later sale. We've just agreed to sell that, so not quite the disaster it probably looked to the neighbours, who have to live with the price precedent we set! Maybe they shouldn't have kept that rusting VW camper on the drive, after all! :rotfl:

Not really. 4 bed semi in posh part of posh city, but not in posh road. Our houses were odd one-offs for the location, so worth less than comparables. Dodgy-built inter-War/post-War rubbish on big plots. :D

    Lots of trees flowering ATM.:)

I went out to get petrol for the vibrating roller & brushcutter and found a queue of two (shock! horror! )at the Spar garage. But it wasn't mass panic; they were just changing tanks. The guy said they'd been "really busy" and that he'd "probably" run out on Monday. He wasn't bothered, as there would be more in on Tuesday. Not terribly exciting, then.

Another non-event: there are no swallows here yet. Any day now though.....
