Well, in that situation the parties might at least find some common ground and then move forward so they can all go home.:D

They'd probably spend as long talking about shoes, or facials...;)

I googled images for pea shoots.... that looks like the leaves of the plant. Is that what it is? Never eaten the leaves; never heard of anybody eating the leaves!

I used to like going down the garden, picking a pod of peas, opening it (checking for maggots), then running my thumb down the inside spine to release the peas ... and scoff them.

Yes, the leaves. Yum yum. Peas in the pod are great for munching just like you did. As soon as the idea of shelling enough for a table full of people, or for the freezer for several meals my nail beds start to scream in horror at the disconfort.

Lj, have you had a nice pea and mint soup? One of my favorites, very heavy on the mint, so its fresh and green tasteing and eaten very very cold.....no chewing. :). Imo, much nicer than a winter pea and ham soup.

Ok, so, i grow peas,......but mainly for the shoots for salad. I haye poding peas and think frozen petis pois are actually a good product comparative ly for taste and price. We do eat purs, but i always get them too late:o

Tried growing peas last year, but it didn't work.
Seem to recall podding peas with my nan & grandad when I was a child. Can't recall being bpred with it. If I get a good harvest, perhaps I'll be fed up with podding!:D

Difficult to see how it couldn't work: Dig hole, put seed in, cover hole. Wait.
    :)

We used to have 3-4 rows of peas.... and it was quite noticeable sometimes how the quality/size of the plants varied along the row. While most were OK/big, there'd usually be a point at which the height would drop off and the plants would go dry/brown quicker.
