I bought fuel for my car today, not panic buying reasons though, my little fuel light was telling me rather forcefully that my car needed to be fed.

I never fill up, can't afford it to be honest, so it is £10-£15 a time and hope it gives me a decent amount of miles to be getting on with (diesel car so it does go a fair bit further than a petrol one)

The fuel station was absolutely manic and had apparently been like that all morning, luckily, there appeared to be an abundance of cars needing a left hand fill so a right hand fill was available immediately for me to just coast by the huge queue for the other pumps.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The parent's health status occupation and other factors particularly relating to the dad can affect the ratio.

There's a well-documented surge in boy babies afer both world wars in france and the UK.

I gather in one locale there's an inheritable birth order ie there are more firstborns of one gender than another, but can't remember the details I'm afraid.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that boy babies are (admittedly weakly) correlated with successful and high status fathers.

Ah! I got the wrong end of the stick there then...:o

    Sorry!

Re para 2, people with large incomes can have debt issues etc. The low paid don't hold exclusive rights to money troubles, do they?

Not the low paid, no. But I would have thought that money troubles were fairly exclusively the preserve of people who don't have net assets in excess of £1m. There's nothing wrong with having assets like that, or with being open about having them, but DFW is supposed to be a safe and supportive place where people with out-of-control debts encourage each other. It would be like someone of supermodel proportions going to Weight Watchers to ask for advice. You'd be better off asking on MFW, even if it's not particularly for the purpose of getting rid of a mortgage. They're just as obsessive at trimming every possible excess expenditure from people's SOAs, but a lot less touchy and upsettable, because they're not in crisis.

I'm not particularly bothered if posters put up the extent of their wealth (or poverty!), it doesn't make me envy them or pity them....it's just a fact of life, there are some who have more than most and some who have less than others, it's the way the world works.

But then, I was never a keep up with the Jones' type anyway.

Anyway, appointment 1 done for today, couple more to go. The first one was for James, he now has another set of initials to add to the growing list of things wrong with him, this time something that is not expected to be seen until a person is in their 40's, he is 18. His list so far is EDS, P.O.T.S, heart murmur (not quite so innocent now but I won't/dare not, think about that) and GERD. He has now been advised to take it easy and on the next episode of chest pain, to call 999.....hmm, not sure he will listen.

Obviously it is a worry but he wants to be able to lead his life his way and I don't think he will 'conform' until he is forced to. As far as he is concerned, he would rather enjoy life than be stuck at home doing nothing.

Youngest is now much better and is back at school although his peak flows are still a little under par.

And finally, a statement review for middle son yesterday, it went well but they are frustrated by his refusing his one to one help (he is supposed to have 25 hours a week). But they are pleased with his progress, pleased that he now has a growing group of friends thanks to music and are actively encouraging him in this by allowing him to practice during form time.

There has been much more going on this week but I won't bore you anymore than you have been already!

Well done for dealing with all that, Sue. And I agree with lir: your life is not boring to me.

DS has another psych appointment tomorrow, and I have made an appointment for the first week of next term to meet the Senco at his new school to discuss how we (she and I and his psychiatrist) can all try to sing off the same hymn sheet to manage his transition from primary to secondary this summer. He doesn't do well with change or loss... :(

On a more positive note, he hasn't been complaining about being bullied recently. I asked him if it was still going on, and he replied airily "Yes, but I don't bother about it now, because none of the boys that bully me are going to <name of secondary school>".
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I am sorry the bullyin han't stopped. He is taking an increibly mature attitude....a term seemslike forever at that age.

Its very positive he sees a positive aspect to seondary though, hopefully helping him start to view transition as positive sometimes. I hate hange too, and have no readon, unlike him.

Also heard that good-looking men are more likely to have daughters.
This article covers some info on gender ratios but I've read other interesting ones about disease and occupation and how they affect birth order but can't remember where

Lots of people want to buy the house .... shame NONE of them have [a] sold theirs even got theirs on the market. *rolls eyes*

Actually had one phone the agent to offer full price and ask us to take it off the market .... and not only has their house not gone onto the market yet, he's not even spoken to any agents to get a price/measurements/epc/photos taken. Agent explained to him very slooowwwllly .... it doesn't work like that.

Agent told me about it, I said "bloke's an idiot." Agent said I should work for them as I am a straight talker.

My parents were looking to sell their house a while back, but because there were not many houses on the market that they liked, they wouldn't put theirs on the market until they found one that they wanted. I had to explain that's not how the market worked. So they said they won't sell then because they weren't going to downsize from a house that they loved go through the trauma of selling, only to find that there wasn't then something that they liked at the end of it. With not many houses on the market it just makes it worse. Wouldn't surprise me at all if a lot of the potential buyers looking at yours were in the same boat.

This is the situation we were faced with, because available smallholdings were fewer and further between, and affordable ones, like chicken's teeth.

We solved that by seling up and going into rented.....and it worked.....almost! :o Just have to live in a shed now, while the house is sorted. :rotfl:

Architect is coming this a.m. to tell us what we can/can't have.

In 2005 I had a neighbour who put their house up for sale (at too high a price by about £10k at the time)..... and it's not sold to this day. It's now at the price it should have been in 2007.

She only wanted to buy a bungalow in one road, so every time one came up for sale she'd put her house up for sale .... and lose the bungalow, then take hers off the market .... and she's been doing that now for 7 years. If she'd priced it correctly in 2005 it'd have flown off the shelf and she could have rented and been in a bungalow on her preferred road within a year, tops. She's not getting any younger.... and has now wasted so many years in the wrong house.
