The annoying thing with this subject is that they have an amazing teacher, he has only ever got top grades for his pupils and he is a senior examiner for the subject. So everyone taking it engineered their choices so that they are in his class and the class is now too big plus it has a couple of clowns so they all mess around. I did say that they are all 17 or 18 and should know that they should be serious, but this doesn't seem possible.
The other thing is the tutor, they have found a super tutor; Apparently some tutors are so amazing that they can command £££. This tutor is prepared to teach a small group of them - upto 8 for some intensive sessions. so we are all paying £25 an hour and the tutor gets £200 an hour!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. That one I can quite believe.
We’ve gone down the slightly cheaper route (DD’a are 8 and 10) of paying £4k/year in school fees and them being guaranteed extra tuition in the evenings if they need it (OH used to teach in the school in question, on nothing like £200/hour). Class sizes are average 16 in this school, however I know that the bulk of [STRIKE]profit[/STRIKE] surplus funds comes from boarders.
My girls speak French and Spanish better than I do, and we’re getting them up on Italian/Georgian/Russian and a bit of Armenian. It’s amazing how important languages are these days
Remember though, at the same time, that the teacher has to hire the halls etc etc etc, however it still comes up at over £100/hour profit

Crikey silver, whatever is the subject that commands £200ph?
I agree with your son btw in terms of doing it, but that sounds extortionate. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I have only heard of one of those shows and never knowingly watched either. Apparently, there was somebody on called Jonathan recently, who caused quite a stir, at least enough to get on the news.
I have no idea who Jonathan is/was... I watched the Voice and quite enjoyed it, but it isn't the best thing I've ever seen. BGT on the other hand I like about as much as mushrooms. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? We might set the paddling pool up this weekend, before a hosepipe ban.

I'm sure the judge will be very understanding.
Oh ... and I'm "of no fixed abode" and currently have no legal actual address .... so, if you can find the shed I am currently sleeping in, good luck mate0 -

If we get into an inaccessibility competition, Pastures will probably win it.
If you were flying here, I could leave my house at the time your plane lands, drive to the airport, park, walk in and see you trundling along with your case... get you into the car, back here, and online to continue chatting in this thread as if I'd never left.
Oh... but you could only arrive about once on a few days/week.... there's not many flights at all.0 -
