Theory is that pick-up only items don't get many bids, so you can get a bargain. In fact there is a table and floor lamp near me for only £1.04, but they are a bit kitsch.
I don't know what it says about where I live, but the first thing on my list was a stack of concrete blocks for 1p. No second hand Porsches or Hublots, or bottles of vintage Dom Perignon here. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I'd have those! Being where I am, my list begins with a plough!
....And it's £500.
Or I could have a hideous G Plan 60s sideboard for £107+
The only 99p items are a wicker chair (got two) a horrible vintage glass dressing table tray (probably got one somewhere) and a dustbin.
The dustbin would be OK, but we have about 8 around the place already. (feed, bird food, daughter's storage)0 -
I am always after dustbins for feed. I dream of decent metal storage bins which you put feed in the top and tak it out from the bottom. Oh, how nice it would be.....
In lieu of that...dustbins are great!0 -
Locally to me is...
A Sholley trolly
A Dyson vacuum cleaner
A 50" LG plasma TV
Reminds me of The generation game
Sorry lir, you will be too young
My view on the 60's...
I feel I missed out by not experiencing them as a teenager in some ways as they looked the best times (grass greener probably). It just seems everything has went down hill from then onwards in many ways.
If we didn't have the tech of these days what would we have!0 -

That's ok lir. I think of you youngsters as the ones that have to make up conspiracy theories about man not going to the moon because you're all in a hissy fit about not getting to see it first hand;).Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Nerdy alert.
Is it cheaper to spin clothes then tumble dry, or put them straight in the tumble dryer? My W/M has an extra spin option, 4 minutes at 900 rpm which uses about 1.2kWh, the dryer uses about 0.6kWh in a minute, so its a question of whether the extra spin reduces drying time and for how many times it is worth repeating the spin cycle.
Agree with Pastures. Heating is always more expensive than moving, so the spin should help a lot. But you could work out exactly how much you could save by timing how long you take to dry tumble two equivalent loads of washing, one that has had the extra spin and one that hasn't. (Sorry, can't help thinking that way.)

Mine does.PasturesNew wrote: »That'll be me then
And me (although I didn't arrive in time for the moon landings, though).Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
You must be 69 Lydia. I was 66. I'm thinking viva will be 64?
Were not that far apart.0
